Calwell District Playing Fields

Together grounds 1, 2 and 3 form the Calwell Playing Fields which is one of the largest and highest use sportsgrounds in Canberra. The grounds are accessed off Were Street and have extensive parking areas. The large Calwell shopping precinct is only a five minute drive from the grounds.

Ground 2 is an athletics facility in the summer months and is home to the Calwell Little Athletics Association. The facility has a 100m and 400m running track as well as long jump and throwing facilities. This ground is also used for Oztag competitions in the summer evenings. This ground has 4 football fields and these too are used in the winter by the Brindabella Blues Football Club-both senior and junior. The ground is serviced by a pavilion with canteen, change rooms and toilets. The two fields closest to the pavilion are floodlit to training standard.
