Super company to deal with. Jacob understood what we were trying to achieve from the very first site meeting. This is the second time we have used JMH Design to do our renovations. Jacob and his team are extremely professional, friendly and helpful. Very disappointing experience! I have engaged JMH on 25 Jan 2022 and I still do not have an error free preliminary design. Therefore, I have decided to end the engagement with JMH on 17 June 2022. It was a knockdown rebuild site. I even provided them with the Residential Site Plan - detail & contour survey prior to starting the concept design, so that they can provide me with a correct design the first time and it appears that they have not even bothered to look at them! Their first concept design itself did not fit my site or budget and the designer had no clue about the practical issues of the site like council trees etc. I have asked them multiple times to look at the survey and they continued to provide me incorrect drawings with driveway leading to council tree, incorrect contour details, water meter labelled as water hydrant etc. Each amendment takes 5 weeks and then weeks and weeks to correct the errors. They even missed my mark-ups on the drawings I provided for amendment. It was disappointing to receive a half-complete drawing after 5 weeks of wait. Prior to signing up with them, they said they have builders who can build their plans. They have raised the concept and preliminary design invoice at once and I paid it trusting they will do a good job. Big mistake! I had to chase them multiple times even to get the details of one builder. I was supposed to start the demo and build in August. JMH had delayed the design so long that I am running out of time. The builder they suggested is not even available to do an estimate until mid-July. I have told JMH the situation and asked for details of any other builders they work with and they have not even bothered to respond. I have contacted a couple of builders on my own and their quotes have come back significantly higher. Some builders told me their prices have gone up $50 to $80k Since January while I was waiting for JMH for the drawings. Therefore, my loss is huge! I would never recommend JMH to anyone.Response to below JMH reply :Well, I paid you for an initial site consult where you visited the site on 19 Jan 2022 and I gave you the site survey with all site characteristics prior to you even starting the concept plan. Assessing the site parameters and characteristics should have been the first step prior to producing any design. You have noticed the site characteristics on 2nd June 2022 whereas this information was available at your fingertips since 11 February 2022 .Regarding builders, I never received any communication that you are trying to contact any builders for me. I have not received any response from you when I asked for the builders either.Regarding customer satisfaction - you had your chance! I have provided you plenty of opportunities and waited patiently until last week for you to correct the drawings. I now know exactly how much money my patience has costed me and I am not willing to do that anymore. So good-bye.

The team at JMH were an absolute pleasure to deal with and our experience with them was nothing but positive. We went into our home renovation process as complete novices with little knowledge of what we should or shouldn't be doing in which Jacob and the team provided some much needed direction which enabled us to reconsider aspects that would completely blow the budget or ideas we had that simply wouldn't comply with building code. The E2E process was completely transparent and we can't thank them enough for being so patient and cooperative with us.
