Worst flake I've ever eaten. It was disgusting in both taste and texture. It had brown areas that seemed like it was decomposing as seen in the photos. It was inedible. When you pay big money you expect to get good food in return. This was terrible. Won't be recommending to anyone I know, and won't be coming back again. Very disappointing.

First decent north east coast Fish and chip shop I can recommend! Obviously fresh fish, and affordable in-inflated prices along with a brilliant view of the tweed river.We come up from Victoria every year, and it makes me appreciate how spoilt we are for coffee shops and pizza & fish & chip takeaway.Scales did one better with the customer service, and fast delivery of food! I’ll be back!Thankyou scales for settling a high bar for the common people!

I've been there quite a number of times since 2016 and this is the first time I'm disappointed. Have they changed owner?I ordered fish and chips as usual. Today I order grilled fish with chips. Per photo. Since when they started giving you basa fish? And look at the chips, you can compare to the old times, check out other reviews, miles of difference. I don't think I'll go there again. It used to be my favorite fish and chips place. Disappointed.

Best seafood in Tweed! Really fresh, and good prices. They don’t have a massive variety, but every once in a while they get clams, big lobsters and fresh mussels. The staff is lovely and helpful, although most times is packed so it’s difficult to get their attention.

Bought small chips and 2 battered sav's 4 o'clock Friday avo. Chip were nice, sav's a bit cold. Give this was all I had eaten that day I ate the lot. 2 hrs later, sick as, ended up with serve food poisoning. 3 days later I still have it but getting better. Don't eat cold sav's

A little busy when we went so was expecting to wait a while but it was ready in 15 mins and it was so delicious, the calamari was so fresh and the crumbing and seasoning were very tasty. Chips were also very good, not too salty either.

Had the chips and calamari pack with a small gravy for lunch, good serving size with a wedge of lemon included. Lots of nice fresh seafood available in the shop also and lots of seating out front with the river just across the road.
