Shinbukan is an authentic and traditional martial arts school. It’s a great place to train with a great bunch of dedicated people.

Shinbukan provides an excellent environment to train in the styles of Goju Karate, Iga Ryu Ninjutsu and Iai Do. The training is traditional and really improves physical fitness as well as creating strong capable fighters. Great for beginners and advanced practitioners. Never been to a school as dedicated and enjoyable as this!

I was looking for a karate school for quite a few years for my, now 12 year old daughter, to train at. All the local dojos I researched just didn't seem to teach traditional karate. Shinbukan Lane Cove, was recommended to me by a friend, the dojo wasn't really local for us but we thought why not. After a few trial lessons, I was impressed by the structure of the classes and what was taught to the kids. Needless to say she decided to join, and that was 3 years ago.I would highly recommend this Karate school to anyone who is looking for a no nonsense karate school that teaches technique, self defence and discipline

Shinbukan offers an experience that involves learning body coordination, flexibility, methods of self defence and many more. I joined about 3.5 years ago, and I have learnt much, thanks to the instructors, who explain and demonstrate techniques very well. Anyone can join, whatever physical ability or age. I highly recommend this school to anyone who wants to join and learn at a serious karate and ninjutsu school.

Shinbukan specialises in Karate and Ninjutsu, with a strong focus on tradition as passed down by Grandmaster Saito, who trained in Japan.There is a strong community and support between the Grandmaster, instructors and students, which is an important part of the individual student's development and improvement. Special attention is given to beginners, with instructors identifying individual strengths and weaknesses, tailoring the training to accomodate the student's skills. Everybody is welcoming from day one, with seasoned students giving their time to a newcomer, creating a sense of belonging. This same support and encouragement is shown (and throughout) to students undertaking their grading, with a sense of pride when passed. Everyone wants each other to succeed. I have witnessed tough times and a sense of accomplishment, both for myself and for others. You won't be just a number.Families attend together, with parents being long time students, bringing their kids along. Shinbukan shapes kids into adulthood to be confident and capable in the arts, and eventual leaders.The instructors are skilled, very motivated, encouraging as well as challenges you. They are great leaders, great with kids.I have no regrets starting with Shinbukan at all, and I believe that you won't either!!!!

1st Walked in 4 years ago, Looking to learn Iaido, And i got much more, being trained in Igaryu Ninjutsu. It really changes your body and mind positively, Making me more Fit and strong. Training pushes you to always go beyond your limit, allowing you to improve every training.

Excellent dojo for Karate and Ninjutsu. I studied here for almost 2 years and while it was hard work, it was very fulfilling. Soke William Crando is an inspiration and his black belts are always on hand and happy to assist.Once I have more time I will definitely be going back.
