Thank you to Bob the Framer who was working next door to me on a Como Home. During concreting and framing, a few nails was left in front of my driveway and lucky me, reversed right into one. Needless to say, I was very upset, especially as my husband had a broken foot and it was my 4wd vehicle, which meant a lot of work, heavy lifting and out of pocket cost. After completing the tasks of changing, repairing and replacing the tyre, I approached Bob to see how he was going to support me. Bob was very forthcoming, honest, approachable and took accountability of the incident. He refunded me the $30 I paid to have the tyre fixed and I truly appreciate his empathy and ability to take ownership. He even offered to have his boys change the tyre for me. Thank you Bob! It was refreshing to know they are some good people in the world. : )

Very disappointed. Manager does not give the courtesy of a return call. Been very patient over last six months as aware in financial difficulties but clearly not going to finish off our particular build. Given our experience would not trust this failed business.

Could not have been less professional if they tried…. Be very careful before giving Como Homes $1 of your money. Ensure you have great clauses in your contract regarding delays. Obviously we were not one of the lucky customers, but seems like there are more and more “bad” ones from the reviews. I have tried everything i can and unfortunately now have to follow the slow legal process to get our job finished, although thankfully we are in and no longer throwing money away to rent.Best of luck with anyone who decides to build with Como. I know I would never do it again

Please beware of this builder and do not proceed further until a quote is finalised and building contract is drawn up and signed. After paying the initial deposit of $2500 and having the first draft of design done, we paid a further deposit of $3500 but upon submission to the council for planning permit, we needed to change the design. Como homes asked for $5000 for a change in design which we paid and got the planning permit approved. The problem was after this stage. They promised a finalised quote without any provisional costing back in Nov 2020 and in May 2021 we still hadn’t received what was promised. During those 6 months, many calls, emails and texts went unanswered. Frustrated, we called Inspired homes to mediate only to be told “We are busy so we think it is better you find another builder”, yet they refuse to refund any of the deposits paid.Basically, we paid $10500 for a preliminary drawing, months of headaches and have been left high and dry.Not once in my life, have I been denied a purchase for lack of stock or service, and not been offered a refund, have you?

Como built us a beautiful house (Knockdown Rebuild - Inner Suburbs) that we’ve made a home. Was the build problem free? No. But the builder stuck to their word and finished the house to our satisfaction – it’s what you expect, but we’ve heard a lot of stories where builders have failed to finish homes and fix issues post hand-over. Como delivered on everything they promised. Integrity is key in my book. After 18 months of visiting builders and getting quotes, we stumbled upon Inspired Homes, they were able to design our dream home with a budget in mind and worked with us to get the design just right for our block. Inspired were working with Arden at that time. However, they moved to Como Homes (owned by the same people) when we signed the contract. We then worked to commence picking colours, fittings, finishings etc. Como were using the Arden show rooms at that time and that was fine by us as they’re an established brand and gave us confidence that Como would deliver. There were no issues at that stage, we even made a number of late changes and Como made amendments where requested. Como’s quote was fixed price which was a relief, as we knew we wouldn’t be up for any additional costs unless we agreed to an alteration. When the build commenced our supervisor was friendly and everything was going well. The only issue we found was it was hard to get onto him and we didn’t get many opportunities to walk through. However, we drove past the place most days and walked through whenever we could. We had a few concerns throughout the build that we raised. We always raised them in writing. The supervisor was always helpful in that he would address our concerns and confirm the problem would be solved, however there was often delays between promise to action. In time all issues were resolved however, as the build continued. On completion we raised a number of issues (mostly with the finishing) and there were some delays as a result of this. We were promised at that time those issues would be rectified by a certain date and that didn’t happen. We had to delay our move and as a result we spoke with the Director of Como to ensure we were getting appropriate service. Come early 2019, there were still a number of items remaining on the list to be rectified, but we didn’t want to delay the movers again so we moved in on the set handover date.We again engaged with the Director who personally visited the house and reviewed the build. He took ownership and acknowledged the issues we raised. He made his own list for rectification and didn’t try and excuse any issues, he genuinely wanted to handover a house that was to his and our satisfaction. We trusted from that moment that Como deliver. The Director even assisted us by personally coming out when work was being done to minimise disruption. We were pleased with the outcome and we’re extremely satisfied with the build. The house is beautiful and it’s everything we dreamed of.My tips for building: Inspect often and ask to be left alone – take your time. Note any issues and add them on a master list, number them, date them and supply them to the supervisor and the office in writing. Tick them off as they’re rectified. Try your best to have all items addressed before handover – set a flexible date or suggest they take the time required.Final words: Como have some great staff, we found everyone respectful, professional and easy to deal with, even when we probably came across a little difficult or stressed. Como delivered what they promised at the price quoted and we love the outcome. We would use Como again.

We built our house with Como about 4 years ago, 4 years on and we are still waiting on faults to be fixedFloors are liftingWe have mould growing in kitchen due to leakAnd numerous other faultsThese faults were pointed out at our final inspection and we were told it will all be done4 years on, still nothingThe director Christian had continued to lie saying “we will get it done” been 4 years still nothing. My wife broke her toe and now has permanent nerve damage on her foot due to the lifting floors, and son keeps getting sick from the growing mould from the moisture damage.I have found a lawyer and taking them to court and going to sue Christian and Como Homes

We signed on with Inspired Homes who did an excellent job of designing our home. The project was then handed over to Como Homes for the build. The build itself is fine, there were some questionable choices made in the process that we have had to work around since moving in. But the largest problem by far is the communication post-build.Neither the maintenance manager nor the owner can be bothered to return my calls or emails. I have been chasing them for a year now to get some issues resolved as per their promises and contracts. They did call me back in September to ask me to wait another month as they are busy. I haven't heard from them since despite my efforts to contact them.

Wish we were warned about this company before signing on with them. Nothing but head aches and empty promises from day one. Terrible customer service and the most unprofessional company we've ever dealt with. They never return phone calls and the only time you hear from them is when they're chasing money. The build was supposed to be complete in march but they extended till May, but we didn't get the keys till August, 11 weeks late and after 3 attempted settlement days. They tried to hand us over an incomplete house at these failed settlement days still insisting we bring the final cheque to handover! We had no garage doors, filthy stained carpets throughout all the bedrooms as the carpet was put in 3 months prior to handover, the kitchen cabinets were scratched and unfinished, the oven didn't fit in the kitchen, the kitchen bench they sold us in the display was not the one we got, they didn't connect the solar panels to the hot water service and said that they didn't have to, the finishes on the house we're rough and careless, the yard was covered in trash, the list just goes on and on. The compensation they give for going overtime doesn't even cover half the rent and they don't care as the house just sits there for weeks untouched. We are still waiting on repairs we were promised months ago but fat chance they're ever going to be done, especially after reading other peoples experiences that had the misfortune of dealing with this incompetent comany. Spare yourself the disappointment and don't use these builders.

I built house with them through inspired home in 2018. Como homes quality is very poor. Had a lot of new house movement after it was built. If you want to use them, you better upgrade your house slab 1 step ahead that it was suggested to prevent this. Moreover, the cabinets quality was very bad. I frequently has water leak from the roof because of not good quality. Definitely after built service is very poor too. Recently I had water leaking issues that might be from consequences of house movement. I asked them to have a look. They replied not related with them. Very bad communication. I would never use them again.
