Executive Retreats - Luxury Accommodation in Port Douglas and Cairns

I will never book through this company again. We are locals to FNQ and used ER four times. Every time the same thing, not cleaned properly, dirty, equipment out dated and broken, unprofessional service, I can go on. The photos are very old on the website, don't be fooled.

This was the most amazing holiday! We absolutely loved our Sea Temple Apartment which was furnished beautifully, well maintained and very well equipped with everything we needed. The location within the resort was also prefect. We would love to return again one day and can't recommend it highly enough. Thank you to Wendy and her team for your help with our booking.

I recently enjoyed a week at Mali Mali with my wife and 3 children. It was a wonderful experience and we had a truly lovely stay. The house was well presented and an accurate reflection of the photos and description. The team at Executive Retreats were on hand to assist as required and the process was completed seamless. The pool and view was magnificent and the house was well appointed. The tennis court was well maintained and the surroundings were the ultimate in peace and tranquility. We truly had a wonderful time and will be back! Thank you for a lovely stay!

Made a booking and paid the deposit for the cassowary as the accommodation for myself and entire bridal party for my wedding 6 months in advance only to have the booking canceled 60 days prior to the wedding because they had double booked" the property.Cancellation was done via email. No attempt was made to find us alternative accommodation and no consideration or negotiation was made with regards to the importance of the occasion. We had hair

I had a very unsatisfactory experience with Executive Retreats.I recently booked through AirBnB to stay at one of their properties, for around 2 months time. Two and a half weeks after I booked Wendy emailed to say that unfortunately the property had been sold and the new owner would not honour earlier bookings, so she would need to cancel.I found this irritating as surely the potential sale would have been well progressed at the time of my booking, but ok, sometimes things change. Wendy offered some alternatives, which we considered but declined. I asked her to go ahead and cancel our booking as she couldn't accommodate us.Wendy refused. She insisted I must cancel my booking with AirBnB. I knew that under AirBnB terms the host should cancel if they can no longer host, and this triggers a full refund for the customer. I sent her AirBnB customer guidance showing this. She still refused and said I 'must' cancel my booking. I emailed a total of 4 times asking her to cancel and expressing my dissatisfaction; each time she came back with some spurious reason about why it was essential I cancelled it not her.I knew that I would only get a partial refund from AirBnB if I cancelled and would then rely on her to give me or arrange a full refund. It seemed to me she was trying to avoid paying host cancellation fees from AirBnB and perhaps cover her poor customer service (letting customers down in the first place). Eventually I realised that Wendy was never going to honour my request and follow the guidelines so I contacted AirBnB with the issue and within hours they triggered a host cancellation and my full refund.I was extremely disappointed with the contact I had with Executive Retreats and I would not consider using them in the future.

We booked the Mystique Beach House at Newell Beach through the Executive Retreats. The price per night is AUD$850. We booked 8 nights at the total cost of AUD$6,800. One expects top notch service for this kind of money! However, we were utterly disappointed with the service provided by the Executive Retreats.1. Swimming poolThe swimming pool was not operational ahead of us staying at the property. The property was advertised as a house with a heated swimming pool during the winter months and it was one of the reasons why we chose this property. When we arrived at the house, the pool was very cold; the pump was not going; it was not it was clear that no checks on the pool were done prior to our arrival. It took two days to get the pump fixed; numerous phone calls and emails. There were no follow ups from the Executive Retreat staff on the pool service company - we did all the calling and follow ups. We lost 3 out of 7 days /of being able to use the pool. There was no apology from the Executive Retreats or any offer of discount from the daily rate.2. CleaningWhen we booked the property in December 2021, Executive Retreats sent an in information pack which stated that the house will be cleaned mid way through our stay. I emailed the Executive Retreats just 3 days before our arrival seeking confirmation about the cleaning; my query went unnoticed or ignored. No cleaning was done during our stay. A few days before the departure I queried why the property was not cleaned half way through our stay. Executive Retreats told me that, after I made the booking, the rules for cleaning changes from 8 nights to 10 nights. The problem with this approach is that they never advised us when I emailed before our arrival; the information booklet inside the house still refers to 8 nights and I felt like a convenient story to tell us to be used as an excuse for why no cleaning was done.3. BBQYou can't get the BBQ going without using a lighter. When my husband tried to get it going for the first time, it was not working. He then used a lighter and the explosion of gas burned his skin on his arm. There were no warning signs about the BBQ not working without a has lighter. The BBQ is quite old too.Also, there were BBQ utensils provided so we had to purchase them from a local supermarket and we took them home with us.4. Other mattersThe other matters were not significant but I would still like to mention them:- no laundry powder provided- handwash ran out in one day.These are small things but it is a cheap approach to service when you are charging that kind of money for a holiday rental. There is an expectation that enough consumables will be provided for our stay.I complained to the Executive Retreats about the above after our holiday. In response, they said that the owner will not refund a portion of the fees and they offered us one free night stay at a house that costs 1/2 of what we paid in a daily rate for Mystique. The problem with that approach is that the issues we had were to do with the lack of service on the part of the Executive Retreats for which they charge the owner for. Saving money on cleaning and pool service adds to the profit made by the Executive Retreats. We live in New Zealand and coming back to Australia for a free one night stay is a non-sense in light of thousand of dollars in the airfares that we will have to pay to come back. I am pretty sure that the Executive Retreats knew this too when making us this offer. My request for a monetary rebate was simply ignored.Save to say, I will never use Executive Retreats again and will never recommend this company to anyone.

Wow - Mali Mali for our wedding is everything we could have ever dreamed of. Breathtaking views, luxurious rooms, awesome communication and service with Wendy & the team at executive retreats. Already re-booking for a birthday!

Our stay at Beach Break 2 was incredible! Possibly one of the most stylish apartments in Port Douglas, it is light and spacious and has everything you could possibly need for a relaxing stay. The bathroom has a double basin with fabulous lights for makeup. The bed was so comfortable and we had a restful nights sleep. The kitchen has all you need, including a Nespresso machine and ice maker in the refrigerator.The location is amazing, a very short walk to the pool and barbeque area and about 50 metres from the beach. You can park your car here and walk everywhere in Port Douglas as it is also a very short walk to the main street, Macrossan St. We enjoyed our mornings having coffee on the terrace overlooking the beautiful tropical garden.I cannot recommend Beach Break 2 enough and can highly recommend! Our travelling companions stayed in Beach Break 1 and their apartment was also gorgeous. It was so great to be able to stay close by with friends, with all the privacy and comfort you could ever need. We can't wait to return sometime again soon!

Had a fantastic stay at both On the Beach and Clifton Beach House. With the houses being so close to each other we were able to catch up and hang out with both groups without any issues. The houses are exactly what you expect, the pictures don’t do it justice. Everything was clean, modern and very spacious with nice little touches like Shampoo and Conditioner. If you are lucky their might even be some cold beers in the beer fridge from previous groups. Plenty of beds and large TV’s with the beach right across the road. Everything you could want for your vacation.Loved every minute of our stay here. Would highly recommend to all my friends and we will hopefully be back very soon.

We have had a terrible experience with Executive retreats. The property we rented for 3 weeks named ReNewell was far less than what you would expect from a property under the Executive title. The furniture was dirty, freezer door broken, BBQ not working, no vacuum cleaner, drawers contained items from owner and outdoor area not maintained. In general the property is not well maintained by the management company. I had to clean the windows myself. Most disappointing and the office is next door so no excuse for bad maintenance and inspection. I have a series of photos is anyone is interested.
