Beachcomber Resort

We’ve stayed at The Beachcomber on 6 occasions over the last 15 years and always had a fabulous time.It’s in a fabulous location, 5 to 10 minute stroll to the beach or skate park, just over 10 minute walk in to the heart of town, 15 minutes to the ferry wharf, and 5 minutes to the bowling club.You’re also 2 minutes each way to 2 different style of wonderful cafés, what more can you ask for.The Beachcomber itself is about 20 years old and has been slightly updated in that time, but is extremely well kept.The views from the top floor are great, but be warned there’s no lift, and it’s 4 flights of stairs from the carpark.The site managers Jacquie & Andy are two of the nicest people you’ll meet, they’re only to happy to help and provide you with their local knowledge.

Wonderful family friendly little resort. Clean, comfortable rooms and amenities. Friendly and easy going staff. The kids loved the pool area. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a reasonably priced vacation destination.

We had a lovely weekend away with my brothers and sister in laws.The BBQ area and pool were amazing just a shame the weather was a little cool for swimming.

One thing to mention that will ensure you stay at BCR (if you are like me anyway) is the beds! They are phenomenal, we only stayed for one night and i have to say, the sleep was unbelievable! Soft but firm somehow and very very comfortable, best sleep i have had in a very long time!The rest of the room/resort was great too, it is also located very close to the main strip of shops and restaurants, beaches etc.. We walked to dinner at bills fish house (also amazing! fyi) 5 min walk down the road.

Great water pressure...That was the only good thing about my stay. When we arrived, the hoist(are all the same size no matter where you hire them from)didn't fit under the bed or lounge. We were informed and recommended by Annette prior to booking that the company to hire the hoist was used at the hotel often. So when i called reception(Annette) she was very rude and unhelpful and told us there was nothing she could do (in her opinion we should of travelled and tried out the hoist prior to our stay 6 hrs away). After a few ph calls we eventually got John to get some bricks to put under the bed to raise it so we could fit the hoist under the bed. The main reason that i came up was to see my family and i couldn't visit at their house because they have steps and i need to use a hoist to go to the toilet. So i invited them and their children to the hotel and the kids got in the pool as it was very hot. Annette than informed us that there was no visitors allowed or they would have to purchase a room. The room was great for disabled access but not for wheelchair access. So if you are in a wheelchair and you would like to stay there make sure you bring your own bricks

Had a fantastic time, will definitely be coming back. Lovely pool and bbq area. The garden surrounds make you feel like you are in an oasis. 2 bedroom apartment had everything we needed. The New Management were very friendly.

Lovely hotel with spotlessly clean apartments, filled with everything you could possibly need! Friendly staff. Pool is great too, surrounded by tropical plants. Also a BBQ available. Location is also excellent -only a 5 min walk from the beach & parks.

This resort is fabulous - reasonably priced and a diamond in the rough resort for all people, particularly families. They have been very accomodating by bringing in trundle beds to allow for the whole family to stay together, and changing our apartment on multiple occasions to accommodate for varying family members needs. Wonderful services provided as well, and would highly recommend to all!!

Contactless check-in worked fine. However, the aircon did not work in our apartment, we had to call someone about it rather than just go to reception. We got moved to a lower grade room as there were no spare rooms the same as what we paid for. The first room was on the fourth floor yet there are no elevators, not a pleasant experience when carrying bags from the basement to the room.The new room had no working overhead light in the main bedroom. There was no plug for the bath, so our daughter could not have a bath. The washing machine lid won't open all the way as it hits the dryer above, making using it more difficult. all the clocks in the room (wall, microwave) were wrong (by hours). The room comes with a DVD player, but it's not plugged in.
