I completed my NMAS and FDR training through Mediation Institute in 2017 and found the experience to be extremely supportive and encouraging. The knowledge and expertise on dispute resolution within the institute is incredibly vast, with a variety of practitioners as mentors with differing areas of interest, backgrounds, knowledge and skill set. Since completing my studies the support has been ongoing, no question is ever an issue. The ongoing opportunities for further studies and peer monthly supervision help me to stay in touch with new findings in the industry, making sure I am continuing to develop and grow as a practitioner.Janis BullBendigo Mediation

Thoroughly unimpressed. Used car sales approach to mediation. Dodgy, unprofessional practice by the mediator. After submitting a formal complaint there was no action until I escalated it to an outside complaints mechanism, then the 'review' that was done was clearly a rushed, inside job. They couldn't even spell my name right on the response, talked about how great they were before they then used a bunch of excuses to say why they couldn't continue mediation, referring to issues that they knew *before* they started and took the $420 intake fee.Don't go near them.

The lecturers and mentors at the Mediation Institute were very professional and always encouraging in their comments. At times, learning the mediation process seemed arduous and difficult but the assistive content available as well as the willingness of the mentors to help made this process achievable.I would recommend all students take part in the mentoring sessions available. My mentor was Cynthia Brooking, and she was fantastic. The most difficulty was the role play scheduler and making sure times and participants were accurate. My only other comment would be to remind role players that while they need to be consistent and encouraging, they do not need to make the process more difficult. I would recommend this course to others in the future.

I have done a short course with Mi before I start my Graduate Diploma. They have been very supportive and professional. I can access lots of resources, and the network covers many states. The teachers are great and been very helpful. It's been and will be an enjoyable journey.

From the moment I called the Mediation Institute (MI) in Oct'22, I was greeted with respect and positivity. The format of the course is brilliant. It provides students with an abundance of resources, quizzes, weekly Q&A sessions, role players and mediation opportunities. You can pace yourself and their is a genuine collegial vibe amongst students. To complement the training is the mentoring available. It's first class. Objectively, I can't see how one can be deemed to be competent if cramming a similar course in one week, especially for such an onerous qualification that will affect lives. Well done MI and thank you!

I looked at a number of NMAS courses and found that the self paced, online nature of the Mediation Institute was perfect for me.The staff and other participants were all extremely supportive.

I took their NMAS course and am very impressed with the guidance and support the Mediation Institute offered. With their help, I managed to pass my NMAS assessment 3 weeks after I enrolled. The team of mentors were engaging and always willing to help. The course is mainly taken online and it allows great flexibility as learners can adjust their training according to their needs. The online practices allow participants to observe their fellow learners and develop their mediation skills, even when they are not playing the role of mediator. The MI also offers safety net training sessions in case learners face hiccups in their assessments and cannot pass at their first attempt. All in all, this is a very good value for money course; and especially suitable for those who are on a timeline.

I would highly recommend this course to anyone seeking to become a qualified mediator. The theoretical content of the course is of the highest level, the training is rigorous, challenging and engrossing. The one on one mentoring provided is not replicated in any other training course that I am aware of it and it is of the highest standard. The mentors are experienced mediators who go above and beyond to make sure that students understand the course requirements. They support the students to be successful in not only their assessment but also in a practical sense in a workplace situation. The use of technology and self paced learning allows flexibility and engagement. There is a real sense of community and connection with students and mentors all supporting the success of the other individuals undertaking the course.Overall an extremely positive experience.

Having practised as a qualified counsellor for several years, I wanted to take the opportunity to develop further in a complementary field by studying mediation when I found myself living overseas. And once you have qualified, the Institute provides ongoing development opportunities in a wide range of areas.To me, though, the most important dimension to MI is the integrity and honesty with which MI delivers the courses and ongoing support once you have qualified.
