Poseidon Outer Reef Cruises

Excellent experience diving with the Poseidon team! They were very friendly and knowledgeable. They split the divers up into two groups which was great, as the dives wouldn't get too crowded. Mat, one of the dive instructors, was wonderful! He was very knowledgeable about the 3 different dive sites we went to and the briefings he gave pre dive were great. During the dives he pointed out a lot of unique marine life and afterward taught me a lot about some of the different species. He was also very kind to notice when I was cold after a dive, and provided a vest to put over my wetsuit. There was hot teas, coffee, muffins and cakes at the first and third dive site, and a large buffet style lunch at the second. You could also buy alcohol on board, and sea sickness pills or ginger. All in all it was a great day and a great experience. I highly recommend :)Also a big shout out to the coach driver who picked us up from cairns in the morning. He was extremely friendly and sweet. Along the drive he pointed out wallabys and some Australian landmarks. It was like a tour! Amazing drive along the coast. Thank you to him and everyone at Poseidon!

Second trip in 3 years, still extremely professional and well organised. Received a 10% discount. Once in the water Gordon was an excellent team leader highlighting all aspects of marine life.

A great day out - you can get your fill of snorkeling until you are sick of it, and saw pretty much every fish under the sun and some beautiful coral. Can be a bit of a crazy wild ride back to the shore, but sure that is just part of the fun, just make sure you have your ginger or sea sickness tablets in advance!!

Dont hesitate! This trip is amazing if you like se underwater ecosystems. The crew is truly incredible, and very passionate about there work. I got to experience snorkeling on the words biggest reef system. You can choose between snorkeling or scuba diving on the trip. We had a guided snorkeling tour at the end of the trip, that was very interesting. Bring sunblock!!! And by the seasickness pill if its wavy.

Amazing day exploring the outer reef! You get to go to 3 beautiful sites & explore the beauty of the healthy, colourful and glamorous Great Barrier Reef! I did a return trip on the Poseidon bc the crew are always smiling, friendly & professional! The crew are thorough, knowledgeable & prep everyone on board about the dive/snorkel sites. The crew all happily share their knowledge of the site - what coral or big clams to look out for & the types of sea life that typically can be seen.Nathan on the servery bar is knowledgeable with food if you have special dietary requirements. The food is plentiful and well catered with local produce of prawns, variety of fresh fruits, many salads & the delicious chicken!The photographer onboard Pang is very accomodating & manages to get around to photographing all the snorkelers & divers & nails those winning shots for your souvenir of the trip! You can also rent cameras and GoPros to capture your own memories.The lifeguard Finn is lovely & helpful & always on watch so you are always in safe hands!Facilities are well maintained and clean.I cannot fault any of the staff!My beautiful beginner dive instructor Daan was such a happy chap! His calm nature and professionalism really helped me with my trepidation of diving. His beaming love of diving convinced me, & I returned & got certified as a diver!This amazing experience with such a vibrant crew & lovely company, means I will always go on the Poseidon now for my recreational snorkels and dives! The captains are also accomodating to Drone photography as long as there are no helicopter flights nearby. There are so many reef sites to visit & the captain will pick according to the conditions so visibility is always guaranteed to be great! & most importantly, going on the Poseidon means it’s not overwhelmingly crowded so you get your space to explore!

Don't even doubt in going with them for 1 day scuba diving trip! Everything perfectly organised, our scuba dive was not only taking care of every detail but also he knows so many things about the underwater world!The food was awesome and the tea/chocolate was brought to us by the stuff so we weren't uncomfortable cold at any time. The reef was also beautiful and I was told that the reef for 1 day trips is not so nice - completely wrong! And after the trip you can choose to stay in Port Douglas instead of coming back to Cairns, this city is amazing beautiful, perfect for an afternoon after scuba diving :)

The 13 staff (Chris, Shaye, Jade & Tinneal) onboard were tremendously very friendly & helpful...8:50am departure or so.Back in dock around 4:25pm.1:30hrs getting out to the 1st dive site.3 Dive Sites are chosen each morning by the skipper from around 40 locations available to them!!!A lot of reef life is present everywhere you look when snorkelling & even more if you’re a certified diver being able to explore the floors of the reef!Scuba diving is $69 on the day if you want more than just snorkelling...Lunch is pretty good, not an RSL buffet, but it hits the spot.Green salad, potato salad, buckwheat & pasta salad, chicken tandoori slices, a selection of some fresh fruits & a large selection of sauces as well.Beer or wine is included also, if you wanted any of those...Instructions & site dive rules are explained clearly.No language barrier or difficulties pronounced.2 toilets are located on the 1st level.Life jackets & spring noodles are available as well for snorkelling if you wish, or if you are a first timer like I was!

I highly recommend Poseidon Reef Tours for anyone who is looking for a once in a lifetime Great Barrier Reef Adventure. The knowledgeable crew who all had great humor, the food (yum) and the boat, what a beauty. Shout out to Gordon, what an absolute legend! Thanks for the awesome certified dives Gordon, will be back.

5*, professional, awesome experience!The Poseidon team (and boat!) are regarded as one of the best in the Cairns/ Port Douglas region - when you go out for a trip you fully understand why so many people rave about it!Out of 3 great dives on Saturday the second one (Pinnacle at Nursery Bommie) was the best - it was magic!Every dive was full of healthy coral and plenty of different types of fish. We saw sharks, Barracuda, Puffer's, Lion Fish and lots more!If you are looking for a new hoodie I recommend trying on a Poseidon one - I bought one and I LOVE it!I'll be back again soon guys - thank you for an epic day. My dive buddy and I ended up going on an adventure the next day too - I went as a solo diver and met some great people on the boat! 5* day.Check my pics for some beaut coral!
