We had a car breakdown about 60km out of Richmond. We called RACQ and they told they will send somebody, who can help us. A mechanic of Richmond Motors came and we drove to the workshop. At that day he had a look at the car and told us at the end of the day, that problem should be fixed by now and we should go for a test drive the next morning. So we went for a test drive and the problem showed up again. Two hours later (An hour later than they told as they would be there) another mechanic,his dad, came in and had a look at the car and he told us he can't find whats wrong and the only thing that we can do is trynna sell all our gear and go on by bus or wait a couple of days and try to exchange the distributor. Me and my friend were a bit desperate and started listing all our stuff to sell. Luckily we found a really friendly guy who was NOT A MECHANIC who had a quick look at the car, checked the fuel filter and found out that the ignition timing was retarded and there was heaps of carbon in the engine. So he adjusted the distributor and filled some cleaning liquid in the tank. Car ran fine after that. The Richmond Motor" mechanic did nothing to help us and weren't even interested to find a helpful solution. Charged us for nothing. Worst mevhanic I have ever seen. Wouldn't recommend anybody to go there.I can't figure out how they got a "qualified RACQ mechanic" license."
