Uniting AgeWell Box Hill Community

Hated this place with a passion. The uniting church should be ashamed for how they treat the residents. The food is absolute garbage and hardly any if the staff speak English. If you care for your loved ones, avoid at all costs. This is a money making business that cares nothing for the elderly.

United Age Well Box Hill is apparently due for accreditation again. They should not pass this at all. Ants located in common areas where residents are meant to sit and relax. Residents room and hallways that have filthy floors. Management only allows linen to be changed once a week, if that (only if soiled). Constant breached of Policy and procedure with regards to manual handling protocol. Residents suffering from MS and Parkinson's parked" in their wheelchairs in front of raging heaters all afternoon(this is a medical No No with these 2 illnesses ) Parkinson's affected patients continuously given hot liquids

Such a lovely calm clean place to live with lovely staff and very nice garden settings to sit and chat in. All excellent.

Much better place for Elderly not crowded and clean.has friendly and respectful staff.

The staff are very friendly and efficient, the place always clean in every corner. They have differ activities for the clients ! I always impressed with them!

As a frequent visiting friend of a resident I find the staff welcoming & friendly to me and caring with good humour to residents!

Like a 5 star aged care, lovely nurses and staff, I've never seen a TV this big (like 100 inches? Hanging there covered 2/3 of the wall) with heaps of DVDs to choose from! There is also a piano and enough entertainments for everyone to share.

Wonderful care of not just the resident but the whole family. As a nurse I was a skeptic of aged care facilities but this one is head and shoulders above the rest. Spotless, clean smelling, plenty of staff, abundant, nutritious and appetising food, warm and cosy. Can’t fault them.

I have worked as a carer at this facility numerous times in all of the different areas and it is the best place I have been. The staff/resident ratio is good. Carers have enough time to ensure all residents are well cared for. The carers are friendly and welcoming and have good relationships with the residents too. Many of the staff are bilingual which is great for communicating with residents of different backgrounds. Each area also has its own dedicated lifestyle staff member during the day time to run activities with the residents - this is not common in nursing homes from my 12 yrs experience and shows that the facility really cares about their resident's needs. The only thing that I feel needs improvement is the food - it often looks unappealing. I feel that the kitchen staff need more opportunity to develop relationships with the residents which will in turn lead to more care in the presentation and service of food.
