We dropped into the hotel last evening (10 June) after the football to see if a table was free for 8. When I told the staff member we didn’t have a booking she said she probably didn’t have a spare table but walked us through the dining area (lots of empty tables). She pointed to a table for 6 and said it was the only one available. We said that would be fine as we had a couple of children in our party and could easily fit 2 extra seats at the end. Then she said perhaps we could eat in the sports bar. We told her the table in the dining room would be better. With that she said we had to order within 40 minutes and dropped some menus on the table and walked off.As Myrtleford locals we really try to support our businesses and we know the owner of the Myrtleford Hotel has gone to great lengths to improve the business; we truly wish him well. But as Myrtleford is a very local town, word gets around quickly and non helpful, rude service can do a lot of damage. It needs addressing promptly.The rest of the service was fine and the food was very pleasant.A warm, helpful greeting would certainly increase our rating experience.However a balanced review is needed: the dining room is certainly warm and inviting with the lovely open fire, the food being very reasonably priced with generous sized meals and the rest of the service was efficient.We are looking forward to coming back next Friday evening with friends.Thank you Tim.Glenda Janas

What a delightful surprise the Myrtleford Hotel is. Have just had the most lovely long weekend here. On such a busy weekend - our stay was fabulous. The staff are delightful helpful and fun! They all couldn’t do more for us. Chef Ryan is making his mark with great honest tasty meals. The porterhouse steak is delicious. Highly recommend his meals.The dining room is cosy, decorated with an eclectic mix of vintage furniture and a fire! Congratulations on a fabulous busy weekend.Beautifully appointed rooms. Crisp sheets comfy beds and big rain shower.Located in the heart of town this is a true country pub/hotel with class Thank you for our weekend away.

We could not ask for more from the management and staff. From the welcoming environment on the Friday afternoon, it became the go to destination for the next 3 days. Thank you all, especially for the sunday night spent wuth thevowners and staff. Torally recommended.Tom

Probably not the best night to turn up here because there was a private function on in one of the rooms, so bistro service was slow. When our cheesy garlic breads and salt and pepper squid came, they were only luke-warm, but the squid was very tender and tasty.

After a night out for dinner, Enticed by music from live band, The later it got the more people came, darts, pool, bar and meals, Staff were polite, helpful and friendly, The only issue would be within the female toilets the step in and out of the toilet, Should have a fluro strip to alert people of the step down. Looks as though they are trying to get it up and cranking which I am sure will happen nothing better than music. I did though however thought it was karoke when I first walked in. Lol. Shame it wasn't. I would have had a go lol.

We were fortunate to get a room as we arrived very late and had no booking. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.We were very pleased with our room that was clean, fresh and comfortable.The bar staff were as friendly and helpful as the accommodation staff. Dinner was good value and delicious. I had salmon that was cooked to perfection and full of fresh flavours. The live music and friendly locals certainly helped to create a memorable evening.Congratulations to the new owners and best wishes. Highly recommend!
