Australia Telescope Compact Array
A bit scary place. You, huge telescopes and nobody around. Lots of flies and a sign Beware of snakes". If you don’t pay attention to all of this

A very interesting and educational place to visit even though the information centre is unmanned the contents within is are self explaining. However the theaterette needs improvements so that when people want to view it they don't have to sit waiting for ages for the program to start. A sensor needs to be installed to pick up people so the program starts automatically.

Went during the week when the dishes were being inspected and repositioned. It is mind blowing for a nerd like me. The self paced info centre is spotless and very well presented. The theatre is great and it is a credit to CSIRO that we can see this facility and appreciate our technical prowess as a country. This is a very impressive place to visit.

It was end September 2022 school holidays when we went and had a look. Only us there in the morning 10ish for 1hr then 4 cars turned up.Information building very well maintained in side.Lots of information plus a room with short video.Interesting how the 5 dishes slide along track.Outside could do with a weed, tidy up.Good size carpark, alot of wallabies.Has toilets with ramp, picnic tables.

Very interesting interpretive displays.Must turn off mobile phones so no interference. No comment about use of key-less car entry.

If you like astronomy and engineering, this place is worth a visit. The information centre has a wealth of information and photographic displays including a small cinema running loops of short video displays. Only a short drive from either Narrabri or Wee Wah

Great place, with lots of information explaining how and what a radio telescope is used for and the difference between an optical telescope. There is a small theatre with a video playing but when we visited it, there was only the audio running and the projector was off or the bulb was blown which was disappointing when you come from Sydney as it would enhance the experience.Maybe a flatscreen TV would be more reliable or could be used as a backup.

Amazing place. Went during the school holidays. Informative self-service information centre that is free to visit. We were lucky enough to see the telescopes move. Highly recommend.
