Indie Hair

NB: This review is based on the recent change in management/owner/stylists in November 2018.My experience was a total waste of time and money. I came in for a wash and blow wave. Technique used was a brush and hairdryer. The whole process took 1 hour and 45 minutes and I walked out without what I asked for. A blow wave should not take that long.Firstly, I was told by the salon staff that my hair didn't hold waves well after the first few dropped. I regularly get washes and blow waves done in a salon and I have always been told my hair holds waves extremely well (waves usually last up to 2-3 days for my hair type). Cool, fair enough if your technique is lacking or your product is not great and you are unable to blow dry waves that hold up. Knowing this, I tried to work with them byshowing the staff pictures of alternative pictures and said I was more than happy for them to use a curling iron or hair straightener to make it easier if they were not able to sufficiently blow dry waves.Secondly, this is the first time where my hair has been tangled in a brush to the point it has hurt my scalp. I do not have fine hair and have never had to have it untangled during a salon wash and blow dry. Somehow, the salon staff was able to tangle each and every section they blow dried.I walked out of the salon with one side of my hair blow waved higher than the other. Definitely did not feel good about how I looked afterwards.

So excited to find Giorgia based in the Eastern Suburbs @ Indie Hair. Classy, talented, experienced and easy going. She does such a great job and it's a pleasure to visit her @ Indie Hair. I hope she'll be around the area for a long time to come.

I feel so fortunate to have located Georgia and her salon Indie Hair. Her professionalism and skill with cutting, colouring and blow-waving my hair has been fantastic. Being local is another bonus. I leave the Salon feeling ‘a million dollars’. So happy to have found Indie Hair and I highly recommend.

Georgia was such a treat! She did a great job on my hair and kept checking to make sure I was getting what I wanted. We chatted the whole time and it was fun. The pricing was more the fair for such excellent service.

Such a great place to get my hair done. The staff are always friendly, honest and reliable. I am SOO HAPPY with my last haircut, especially. The style was suggested by the owner, when I was unsure what I should get and the style suits me perfectly. I have had nothing but compliments about it. From the beautiful cups and saucers with the gorgeous antique spoons that they make your cappuccino in, to the beautiful decor in the salon, it is always a pleasure to be there.Even though I live in Preston, this is the only hairdresser that I will see in Melb/Victoria. Cannot fault 10/10.

Cut itself was fine. But I had wanted to keep my natural curls and she insisted on doing her own blow wave. ‘It’s better’ she said. It wasn’t.Didn’t take my hair type into consideration. Didn’t use heat protection in my dry hair. Very frizzy now.

So happy with my haircut! I left the salon feeling amazing! Giorgia is very friendly and does her job very well, I will definitely be recommending Indie hair to all my friends !!
