Gastronomo The Enchanted Fig Tree
Great experience! We really enjoyed wandering down from the shed to the fig tree, picking some fresh mulberries on the way. Inside the fig tree was so cool! Photos don’t really capture it. The food was really good, and well-presented. Definitely recommend.

An incredible setting with all the ingredients for a fabulous day set amongst the fig tree. Unfortunately this experience fell short for us. Firstly we were emailed 3 days prior to the booking and told that it was due to rain and that the dining experience would be moved to a shearer’s shed on the property. For us this was a premature decision that saw the experience dramatically decreasein value. We are aware that Mother Nature is unpredictable, however, we would have thought that with the pristine weather, perhaps they could have rethought their plans hours before the service began. It was sunshine all day!!The price point is 175 dollars pp. an incredibly high price point for food that was nice but nothing to write home about. The staff were lovely and I am sure if we were able to dine in the fig tree it would have been somewhat worth the 175 dollars but unfortunately there is no show without punch.

Absolutely amazing experience.The food is so good that you'd like to lock the plates and the atmosphere is so beautiful that you won't leave anymore.The girls that run the show are fantastic and helpful. We went there with our baby and they went the extra mile just to help us change his nappy bringing inside a little table.The Fig Tree is really enchanted, it feels like magic eating under is big leaves.Absolutely recommended if you are on the island

Breathtaking unforgettable memory! Definitely a must visit destination in KI. The ambience is just magical. Food was great, Hope and Kiara were very attentive during the service as well. 10/10

Lost for words on this place. One of the best restaurants I've eaten at any where in the world. It is truly unique. How many people can say they've had a chef curated dining experience inside a fig tree.We went for the non seafood menu alternatives which were well executed and seemed far from an afterthought. The main was braised beef which was melt in your mouth stuff, full of other flavours on the plate as accompaniments. The bombalaska was the best I've ever had and one of the best desserts in a long time.The fig inspired gin on arrival was also noteworthy.The only concern we had was the length of the lunch service which spanned 3 hours, sometimes waiting slightly too long between courses. Something to consider if you have plans such as a ferry to catch later on the same day.We will return when back on KI

What an amazing experience we had at The Enchanted Fig Tree!We were blessed with a warm, sunny day, and could not fault thefabulous afternoon spent on the very special Kangaroo Island.From the friendly, enthusiastic and professional staff, to the superb 3 course lunch, which was preceded by canapes and complimentary gin cocktails served outside the historic shearing shed.To dine within the 100+ year old Fig Tree is a truly uniqueexperience, and was certainly the highlight of our Kangaroo Island Adventure.

My partner and I loved the experience to taste good food and having the opportunity to eat inside one of the most beautiful trees we Have ever seen! It's not cheap, but if you put everything in context, it's a must, in our opinion! We were just grateful to be able to experience it!

The real let down about the Fig Tree is the price you pay for the food you get. Yes it was yummy but nothing amazing and for that price I feel everything should be 10/10. It was actually hard to show it was a good experience when asked how it was. The best thing was the fact you’re eating in an actual Fig Tree which is pretty amazing. The staff were lovely and very knowledgeable with the background of how it all started!It’s sad because we were so looking forward to this and it could have been so great!

What an exquisite experience!The first hour was complimentary cocktails, canopy’s and some history shared on the place. The servings were tiny but delicious. A stand out was the kangaroo skewer.We were then led to the enchanted fig tree which at night is just magical to experience. A stunning set up with beautiful fairy lights and calming pop turned house music playing in the background which really fit the vibe. All food servings were delicious, yet small… my favourite being the salmon salad entree, main which was shredded beef with salad and rice (my coeliac friendly option) and the dessert which was meringue, cream and apricot jam. My only feedback would be that for the price which was a whopping $175 it would of been nice to have one more main and maybe one more dessert as I would of like to of felt STUFFED. I also think the drinks could of been included in the price. Still a fantastic experience. If you’ve got the money to splurge than do it- moonlit dinner preferred to lunch for the aesthetic.

Enjoyed the last dinner of the year under a beautiful fig tree. The organisers placed artificial grass around the winding nooks making for a magical experience. Greated with a welcome cocktail of fig syrup, gin & tonic. An oyster as a canape fired our taste buds. Yes it seems expensive on the outside but it was a great experience & imo, well worth it as a memorable dinner. The meals were delicious, the 3 courses filling, the service was prompt & discreet. We went in early March & glad we dressed warmly but a warm shawl was provided which was a nice touch
