A rare find. An outdoors store that stocks good quality items. These sometimes cost more than the cheaper big brand stores, but the quality is why the shop is so good.We live in a different state, but will come here specifically when visiting Armidale for the selection of quality, long lasting items.Staff are very knowledgeable and are happy to spend time with you going through the specifics. I find I often learn things I hadn’t expected that are useful for future adventures.Keep up the good work Armidale Outdoors!

Great shop, good quality stock. Really helpful staff with so much local knowledge. Helped us plan camping and things to do for a few days ahead. Even had a real map permanently on their counter to give directions. Over and above, hope the big chains don’t stifle this rare gem.

Came in to buy a pan and left with exactly that and more local knowledge than you could receive from any info centre. Excellent customer service not just relating to their products but the staff were more than happy to spend time giving us insight and tips about places to visit in the local region. Good selection of products. Seem to cover everything outdoors. Friendly and approachable staff, probably not as cheap as some products you could get at you big department stores but you get what you pay for.

Super knowledgeable. I've been a bushwalker for decades, but when I went in to buy a new pair of boots, the salesman was able to educate me and tell me things that I did not know.He also helped me select the boots I needed, based on my description of my bushwalking habits, and the Scarpa Mistral I walked out with have been terrific.

Awesome service and great knowledge. Their Australian made products are so much better that the cheap chinese imports. Bought the Assie Wool thermals and they are superb. Even at -8.

Found ourselves in Armidale following extensive flooding. We wanted a traditional map as our GPS coverage had been very patchy. Incredibly helpful in the store - provided the perfect map, suggested the optimal route and then checked key points on the computer to make sure they were still passable. Absolutely brilliant service and much appreciated in our hour of need

Very generous and knowledgable!Went in to buy a new pair of hiking shoes and was taught a whole lot about the different brands they had in. Got to talking about bikes and having the right gear for riding in winter. The guy then gave me a heated seat warmer he had won for my bike for free because it wasn't compatible with his bike!

We are camping out at Oxley Wild Rivers and popped into this store to check for a laundry bag. We didn't get a laundry bag but we got alot of knowledge and experience about the local area. The staff there were very helpful and we ended up buying a couple of things there anyway but would highly recommend this shop. It was almost like going to a information centre, they were amazing.
