High Cross Randwick by Sydney Lodges

These lodges provided us with an excellent stay for our mini break to Sydney. We attended for a friends wedding and to make it smooth for us we needed an accessible, comfortable and safe location.The lodges delivered with a quaint, clean and comfy room with welcoming and responsive staff plus safety measures for check in after hours. Noise was low with considerate guests and communal areas are open 8am-8pm to avoid noise interrupting other rooms.It’s located in a fantastic spot 1 block from the L Tram, a great pub/hotel next door, a beautiful 20 min walk to coogee and surrounding areas.We had a fantastic stay and would come back again!

We loved staying at the High Cross Randwick! My parents used to book High Cross when I was growing up because it was a beautiful, convenient & affordable stay. It hasn’t changed a bit; it’s gotten better! We were arriving outside reception hours & the staff made it so easy + convenient for us. The entire process was seamless. The room was clean, tidy & beautifully decorated. We would recommend this place to anyone we know. Thank you for having us!

It was by far the cheapest hotel I could find when traveling to Sydney. The reviews were great, particularly for solo travellers, so I booked High Cross Randwick. The room is looks very high end, the beds are comfortable and the shower was great. The whole building looks lovely and I like the town house" feel it has

We loved our stay- perfect location! Attended a wedding 10 mins up the road and stayed an extra night- loved the proximity to The Spot, local cafes and restaurants and Coogee Beach! Staff were great, check in easy and we were even able to park on premises! Staffed hours were just a little shorter than usual but no problem for us. Room had everything needed, very clean and bed was super comfy, good air con. Staff were also super helpful with applying the Stay NSW voucher when booking. Value for money was great- the best budget option I found when booking quite close to the date. Building is lovely and very aesthetic: I’m sure we will be back!

A couple of things you should know. Our kettle didn't work and the one in the kitchen is also dubious!The fridge was barely cold and couldn't hold very much. We also found it awkward to reach as we are in our 80s and bending doesn't come easily.Having a wash machine and dryer would suggest you have people stay for a number of days. If this isn't the case, then I would have thought that a full size fridge would be far more valuable.We were surprised that the only TV channels available were 7 and 9. No ABC! Fortunately we had little need for the TV.On the plus side, the beds were comfortable, the room was clean and We found your receptionist to be very helpful.

Avoid - poor management, health and safety issues across multiple rooms & properties.Quite possibly the worst stay I've had in Australia and shocking lack of response from management. Originally booked at High-Cross property around the corner and given a room with overpowering ammonia smell from the air conditioning unit: at worst this is coolant leaking at best this is mycotoxins from mold build up and lack of service/cleaning. Front desk closed immediately after my arrival leaving me to call them back and try to get another room. Was shown two rooms at High Cross with the same overpowering ammonia smell when AC switched on. Moved to Perouse property and found one room without the overpowering ammonia smell, but still with visible mold growth on AC (see photos).

Only downside is the bathrooms are a little small but as we only stayed for 2 nights was not a major issue. Good value especially for the area. Quiet and also has small grassed outdoor area great for drinks and lunch.

The location was perfect for UNSW, where I was attending a conference. The room was well equipped, clean, and comfortable, and the reception staff were friendly and helpful. Very good value.

A wonderful stay. No disturbances. Felt like a very streamlined process to check in and out for the customers: a patient and wonderful person at the check-in counter. I should have asked for his name. My credit card didn't work on the first few tries (but it worked eventually). So, I got distracted. He checked me in on 31st Jan around 2.30 pm. Maybe Sydney Lodges can reply to my feedback and mention his name. Thanks for the time at Randwick. I may book the lodge again in the future.
