New Ivanhoe Hotel
The Ivanhoe has been renovated. New paint, New carpet etc etc.Tonight May 27, 2023, is the first time that I have been in since the new took over August 2022.The staff 10/10 are helpful and friendly. Made us feel at home.We ordered our meal and sat at our table. Atmosphere is great, felt relaxed and enjoyable. 10/10Meals arrived hot and looked and tasted great. Above the usual pub food standard.Meals were delicious and a medium sized portion. I'm a big eater.Steak was cooked to our request 10/10.Prices are higher than the standard pub food, however the quality is Upmarket.(Prices are also a sign of the times as the cost of food and living at also at a high)@ivanhoe #blackheath #bistro #bluemountains

Great pub. Open fires lit, great friendly service at the bar. Well priced food and beer, top quality food service. Good all round. Well done. Will return. Didn’t stay in the rooms.

The food was pretty good. The chicken burger was excellent, made of real chicken and had a lovely chargrilled flavour that went well with the coleslaw. The fries were ordinary. The spiced cauliflower was okay but lacked flavour and was not very spicy. Old hotel like decor but quick service. Great for a quick low key meal and a drink.

We just had lunch there for mothers day and it's a beautiful location heritage style and great food. My wife and I ordered the schnitzel and it was 10/10 the best schnitzel I've had. Probably the only drawback was the lack of sauces not even a basic gravy, but it didn't matter it still tasted fantastic. My mother inlaw had the sirloin and it came out cooked perfectly and juicey as well kids meals are a reasonable size but only 3 options. I would only suggest a few more burger options and some sauces.

A limited menu, done well, beats an over-long menu every time.We shared the 1kg of pork ribs. Beautifully cooked with great fries in an appropriate quantity and a good coleslaw. Would just have liked some more of the home-made pickled vegetables as they were delicious.

incredibly rude kitchen staff. i had asked where the steak knives were and was pointed to the wrong direction. i picked up a knife (still a steak knife but more so used in the kitchen) that was placed where the food was put for the waitresses to deliver. i had it snatched out of my hands by the chef and was yelled at in a way that was intended to make me feel stupid. yes, i probably should have looked better but why place a knife like that in child’s reach when you’re apparently using it? i’m a female with severe anxiety and had lost my appetite after such an unnecessarily rude interaction.

Classic style regional hotel that is popular with the locals. Excellent meals with daily specials. All dishes we ordered for diner were wholesome, hearty and tasty.

Highly impressed with the new renos. The food was brilliant, better than your average pub grub! Wine list is excellent and every single team member is friendly and welcoming. A must visit in Blackheath!

The new menu is yummy with lots of options for Gluten Free starters, however, one of the main reasons why we go to the pub for dinner is so we can have the ribs, as this is one of the only main meals available to those who are GF. Out of the 4 or 5 times we have gone and asked for them, they are either, out of stock, they’re not ready (even thought dinner service has started) or when ordering we’re told “no ribs tonight”.It’s really frustrating to not have meals ready in time of dinner service, especially when you have a toddler and can’t afford to sit around for 45 mins until they’re ready.Either take it off the menu, or have them available for customers.
