Didn't even get the opportunity to stay. Although there was a room available for me and my dog, travelling back home, I was discriminated against by the gentleman taking bookings at the motel due to my dog's breed. Without even asking any questions about my dogs temperament, age, training OR our journey details, he decided he wouldn't take us in his words due to my dog's sterotype of intimidating others." After being left out on the street in Dalby by a posh motel who gave the room I booked to someone else, the people at the Ascot gave us hope. Friendly, welcoming and a comfortable room. Thank you, you restored our faith in motels.

I’ve stayed at a few places in Kingaroy and this one is definitely a cut above the rest.Run by Steve and Sue who are warm and welcoming, this is a clean, comfy and quiet place to stay. They are slowly getting through upgrades, however at present the rooms don’t feel outdated. The beds have just been upgraded to king coil so it’s like sleeping on a cloud.Always love when there is a microwave as it expands your options 10 fold food wise. But I’m saying that, the restaurant is run by a super talented chef and has one of the nicest steaks. The pepper sauce was sensational too and everything is home made, except the icecream of course (though its very nice icecream).I can’t even pick this place apart as its perfect in every way.The cleaning staff are also super nice, greet you with a smile and help out wherever they can. I had one request to help set up my room for my wife and kids who are visiting for one night and it was clear it was no issue to set up an extra place for my son to sleep on.This is one of those places I wish I could give more than 5 stars. Highly recommended.Thank you Steve, Sue and your wonderful team for making my work trip away from home feel like home :-)

Thanks to Steve and Sue for the great stay, they are very helpful and friendly and always up for a laugh, they are wonderful hosts.The restaurant had some pretty good steak and cooked perfectly to order.For being there for close to two weeks I’m glad I had such a wonderful bed.Thanks again guys.

A great place to spend a night or two while travelling. Friendly and helpful staff, clean and tidy room. The food is fantastic, from Eggs Benedict for breakfast to the Reef and Beef for dinner. We’ll definitely be back.

I was not expecting such exceptional service in Kingaroy! Friendly, welcoming and clean. The restaurant at the motel must be one of the best kept secrets in town! I cannot recommend Ascot Lodge highly enough!

The only good I can comment on was initial call was met with a very polite receptionis thats where it ended. The acting Manager who in his words was babysitting the motel, he kept over speaking her when she was talking to my husband about checking in.Our room was full of smoke smell, went to the office to report it and Steve as good as not believe me and said could he go to room. He soon found out I was not lying.We paid extra for a lounge and what did we get a very low Futon bed seat, your backside scraping the floor.Oh yes he did offer us another room, but no refund mention for the extra we paid for lounge. I just said forget it.Would I recommend NO, will we stay again under the babysitting manager NO.Husband felt invisible and invisible as a senior and what ever he said Steve disregarded his concerns.

Stayed for 2 nights (last weekend) in the disabled room as we had one person in a wheelchair. It was clean, well maintained and had everything we needed. The couple running the Motel were absolutely lovely and extremely helpful. Would stay again and highly recommend Ascot Lodge.
