Not a great experience for young people who also struggle with mental health combined with AOD. Would not recommend. We went through the lengthy, very detailed intake aswell as the wait period of 4 months... 1 year later my son has been through the process of finally arriving , leaving after a few weeks to cater to the cohort , returning 3 months! Went back only to be once again leaving after just 3 weeks to be considered for returning.... what a process , life was on hold . My son unable to move forward with any goals he had.Family were also in limbo. Both times he had 1 option and that was to jump on the next train. First time this happened he was dropped to a train station only to discover there were no train running !! No phone , no credit. Although TCF promotes their focus on not only AOD but states that they are capable of catering to mental health ( as they mostly co - exist ) , they either dont seem interested in effectively managing the mental health concerns when they do present, or perhaps simply not adequately trained? They are not adressing aod/ mental health as claimed. These young people are in challenging and vulnerable situations. TCF implement very zero tolerance stratedgies to any challenges that arise as a result of aod/ mental health and young people just trying to find themselves.... although these are challenges any treatment centre should expect. Their is a lack of compassion and understanding and very little support of the young people aswell as their family support network. Im sad to say it has been a very dissapointing experience that did more harm than good and he never did get the chance to successfully complete the program as unfortunately , as mentioned. If you have a challenge during the first couple weeks , as a young person struggling to manage sobriety, aod/ mental health, feeling lost and vulnerable , you are not treated as such rather given 1 strike and bye bye.

Do not send yourself here or ur loved ones!!! Only a few of the workers there care about you. The rest want to give u more problems. Bree the social worker kept talking about how she gets up to adult things like baby making to the younger kids who are just trying to get over theyr'e problems

Didn't really seem have an understanding of mental health issues. we did not receive the support that was discussed or offered upon application.

What an amazing place this is. Highly recommend this program for any young person with addiction problems. My sons life has been turned around thanks to the care, support, programs and staff at TCF he has a chance to know what it’s like to live a happy life with wonderful experiences and the tools to make this happen. I can’t thank you all enough for the life changing experience you have assisted my son in. Thank you.
