We booked 5 nights 8/9/10/11/12 May 2023.The Hotel is under renovation but they didn’t bother to notify us and other guests before we got there. how nasty they are !!! bar, lobby and restaurant all shut . I pay for hotel not for coming to see all your mess and inhale your freaking dust. Worst part were our kids ended up with asthma attacked and rashes due to the dust and paint at the hotel. Staffs are so rude not even apologize for inconveniences caused us and other guests, the whole hotel looks like housing under construction from minute you walked in the door ! Do not book and stay with them, spend your money else where that what we will do in the future when we come to Adelaide. Whats a horrible experience . YOU ruined our holiday grand chancellor hotel.

Great location in a busy street but as a plus you have pubs and lot of food options right outside. Having a car park was important to me and this worked well with hotels self park garage. Well recommended.

I received an email from this establishment informing me of a $99 per night deal. When I went onto their website to secure the deal, there was nowhere to put in dates so I thought maybe you buy the deal and then book later. This wasn’t the case. Their system automatically booked me in for that night (this wasn’t shown until the booking was confirmed). My husband was away and I just couldn’t go that night. I feel like this ‘deal’ was just a huge deception. Will not ever stay here again

It’s my second time in this place. Service is superb. Staff are there to make you feel at home. I enjoyed every minute staying here. If you ever need to select, make this place to be on top of your list. Great location, great hospitality, room service, cleanliness, facilities, restaurants - it’s more than I can describe! I love this chain of hotels - used one in Hobart with my g/f from USA- awesome!

Should be 2.5 stars hotel. Booked with expedia for 4 nights in May. Neither The hotel or expedia notify us of their renovations plan otherwise we could have cancel and book elsewhere so when we got there the hotel was in such a mess, dusty and noisy specially at the main lobby, bar and restaurant were closed due to reno so no use of these service . the whole place smell really bad, we ended up with skin rash and ashma attacked. complaint to their staff the next day they said nothing they can do as we already checked in and referred us back to Expedia because we didn’t book with them direct. Asked for manager to contact me but no call until i called them back the next day. They ruined our plan and trip to Adelaide. Im in the process of logging a formal complaint with Expedia and Nz consumer affairs. Stay away from this hotel. Whats a bunch of rude and dishonest people.

Staff were wonderful, rooms were spotless, but oh my what a tired hotel. No USB ports (c'mon!) dreadful bedside lamps, tiny crowded rooms, flickering light in the bathroom, no blanket and quilt too hot (so had to sleep with air con on, crazy) zero style, generally a bit depressing. Reception mistakenly described the hotel as boutique": no way!! It's a massive

Went with my sister and stayed at this hotel found this to be the worst experience I’ve ever had. Had to request the room to be cleaned as it wasn’t done by 4 pm water was lukewarm requested for 4 times for the water to be adjusted and still was not done. Would not recommend this hotel. The only good thing about it was the location as we could walk everywhere. Staff were not helpful when I did ask for my room to be cleaned, the spoons were put back with still dirty. Complimentary hand soap shampoo were not replaced. Very poor service

Staff: the staff was beautiful and so sweet to make you feel accommodated and welcomed, keep up the good workLocation: 3/5 stars, it’s convenient because your close to so many shops and food places but doesn't earn 5 stars as it is on hindley street and everyone knows how things are on hindley street on Friday/Saturday nights, i enjoy the safety though of a guard by the door on weekends to make sure you had cards to get into the hotel of a nightRooms/pool/spa: i loved the rooms, they were very nice, the bathroom/shower is even better and i loved the showers there. the bed that i was sleeping on though was a little hard however and did cause a little pain in my back however. the pool and spa were awesome though, even if you did not want the jets on in the spa it was definitely warm enough to just sit in. i’ve never been in a sauna before so i was not so sure what to expect but it was greatFood: i wish there was an option for me to rate about the food because i would give it 2.5 stars out of 5, one night i got room serviced some oysters which i have had millions of oysters before and never have gotten sick, i woke up in the middle of the night and threw them up and was bed ridden the following day because of how sick they made me. tasted great though beforehand. i also one morning went up for the breakfast buffet and the only two things i had to complain about was the scrambled eggs (they definitely could have been cooked more) and the pancakes (it was a little pancake conveyor belt maker, which also resulted in the pancake could have been cooked more but that isn't anyones fault).also one morning of my stay we were woken up at around 9am with fire and excavation alarms going off, everyone did not seem to be in much of a hurry but when we went down to the desk it was acclaimed to be a false alarm, wasn't very happy of course to be woken up with alarms as i was sick and awake half the night before from the oysters. i heard two different stories because of the false alarm, i heard from one person that they were doing maintenance and they hit the alarm by accident but i also heard that someone had a shower and the steam let the alarms go off. when the alarms sounded i was not too worried as the night before staying i was looking at reviews and a month prior to our stay there was another false alarm.

This is an old hotel but the rooms were great, much better than the Ibis. WiFi is fantastic, coffee and tea facilities in room, beds super comfy, air con works as it should. I was in room 815, corner room, very spacious. Th the breakfast is expensive and didn't look great, the dining area is very uninspiring. Large bar area but didn't look inviting. Staff were pleasant enough. They still make you do the $200 credit card guarantee which is just ridiculous and then you don't get it back for a further 7 days. The area to the left of the place is dodgy and looks run down, with massage parlours and kebab shops. To the right is Peel Street, which has great bars and restaurants. Fast food joints across the road and up the street. Never used the pool or gym.

We stayed for 3 nights in this wonderful hotel in early January. The staff were professional, helpful and nothing seemed too much trouble for them. I would particularly like to mention Jacob who works behind the bar for his friendly, attentive and outstanding service. He remembered every drink we had in our party of 5 and we didn't need to ask him again. He is a high caliber employee and the hotel should value his contributions.
