Best Japanese in highlands. Luckily we went when there were a lot of special menus to choose from. Tuna and toro sashimi, lobster rolls, wagyu beef Japanese sukiyaki. Awesome! BYO okay. Been a while haven’t had a chance to go back but sure we will.

Superb. Simply some of the best Japanese food I've eaten. Fresh, consistently the best quality, fast, friendly and informed service that is never intrusive. My wife and I have been eating at Toshi's for years and will continue to do so. It's one of our favourite all time restaurants and we truly are fortunate to have them here in the Highlands. I cannot recommend them highly enough!

Lunch at Toshi's was a little underwhelming! The reason for my upbeat 3 star review was the waiter Brendan was a ray of sunshine. His service and positive attitude were exemplary. His service levels taking orders, running the floor and greeting multiple customers by first name was first class. My issue was the sushi sashimi was massively overpriced . The tuna nigiri was 'chewy', the maki could have come from a food court whilst the sahimi was acceptable. The yakitori at $17 (2 pieces) looked like something out of a kids cookery class. The Japanese tea was the highlight of the day but it shouldn't have been. Still as the other reviewers say it was probably the best Japanese in the Southern Highlands. (+$60 for 1 person including bottled water)

Just had the wagyu banquet for two. It was probably the best I’ve ever had.Sushi/sashimi was perfect and of high quality. Wagyu was out of this world. A quality cut of meat.Desert was delicious.Fantastic staff! They introduced us to each course as it came out.

Visiting from Melbourne, this place is a timely reminder of what good service and great food looks like all in one. Highly recommend it for a night out. Fresh food and great authentic Japanese cuisine

It was good to eat dinner here. We would come here again.Location: Central, close to shops. Access: Close to parking, wheelchair and pram friendly. Cleaniness: Hand-gel for Covid. Tables wiped. Atmosphere: Good ambience, including sunken sitting Japanese room and table seating.Availability: We did need to book ahead for mid-week. There were adequate dine-in seats. Waiter service.Food & drinks: Menu included set menu, snack size and full size meals, salads, and catered for vegetarian, gluten free. Comprehensive drinks menu included Japanese sakes, wines, beers, cocktails.I had teriyaki chicken [which was fair] and egg plant [which was great].Drinks, beer and wine list matched the menu.This is a ★★★ property that delivers a broad range of amenities that exceed above-average needs.

Delicious food and immaculately clean restaurant! Dined in the Japanese room which was fun and had a very relaxing atmosphere. My husband had the crab coquettes and fried oysters which he reported were delicious and the best fried oysters he had ever tasted - I have a fish & shellfish allergy so had the chicken and pork spring rolls (didn't expect them to be so good but probably the best spring rolls I've had) the sliced scotch fillet in sweet ginger sauce and chicken goyza and these were also delicious. They had a good vegetarian range too so something for everyone. Overall flavourful dishes, great presentation and memorable dining experience - so looking forward to going back again soon!

My friend said a visit to Toshi’s was a must whilst in Mittagong… what a great experience. Loved the tataki, miso asparagus, thick cut sashimi/sushi, tempura and pickles. Stocked the best Japanese beer too… Yebisu. The Japanese dining room is fun and comfortable. The kids had a ball… “beyond epic” as my daughter said.
