so angry, my girlfriend and i had been looking forward to an event at this club for months and then within less than an hour of being there the manager walked into the bathroom where my girlfriend was blowing her nose, saw vomit on the floor and threw her out WHEN IT WASN’T EVEN HERS. the manager didn’t give her a chance to explain or defend herself or even let the other girls in the bathroom confirm she wasn’t the one who threw up. the manager brought a MAN security guard into the women’s bathroom to drag her out. my girlfriend had 3 drinks, she wasn’t even drunk and we ended up missing out on the whole night which is usually our favourite event of the year. we deserve a refund but the staff are so rude at this club i know it’s not even worth trying to talk to them. a bartender also HIT me. the staff are so unprofessional and entitled and treat their customers like animals. it’s a shame because i’m not willing to miss out on this event again so we are going to have to deal with them each time, but if it was a regular club i would be never going back.

Went last night to this venue for the first time. Great place for up & coming bands. There was a voting system at the bar for the bands that were playing - however when we went to put our votes in the bucket we had chosen - they had been removed before the last band had finished? How is that fair? ….shouldn’t the votes be counted after all bands had finished their set?Anyway…..spoke to the bar staff about it….& they couldn’t have cared less. Would have given this venue a great review……but after what happened……I’ll be telling people not to bother going to this place.

I had the unfortunate experience of having to watch one of my favourite bands here, no issue with sound or lighting, it’s a small old venue, it is what it is, located in an inconvenient spot in Melbourne, night ruined by power tripping security who have no idea how to read the room. Hopefully never have to come back.

My absolute favourite venue! I've been coming here regularly for just over a year and have NEVER had a poor experience. They have such a range of events there is always something for everyone, and security and management consistently go above and beyond to make sure it's a comfortable and enjoyable night. 10/10, the best venue in Brunswick, you will not be disappointed!Also, comparatively, door fees and drinks are always more than reasonable.

The venue itself is fine and the bar staff were lovely, but the two people working security last night were incredibly rude and unpleasant to interact with. They had this jeering, mocking attitude that was clearly meant to try and poke aggression out of a level-headed and polite conversation. Obviously trying to pick a fight to create a little drama for their own nights, it was quite childish and unprofessional and not the kind of behaviour you should expect from security.

I had so much fun here and after coming to Melbourne and then moving here, stay gold has become my regular place to go. The bar and security staff honestly has been so helpful to me and I always feel welcome and have a great night without fail. Thanks guys!
