Low Head Pilot Station Accommodation

What a comfortable and unique experience to stay in a 19th century built heritage listed accommodation. The wind howled at night (it is winter) adding to the ambience. No frills but wonderful. What a great museum too. I would recommend this place.

Anita is an exceptional host, easy to communicate with and the booking process was seamless, thank you. My family of 10 had an enjoyable 5-night stay at the “Queenslander” for a wedding this last weekend. The house was spacious, magazine-worthy, great for wedding photos, private, warm and cosy, fresh linen, comfortable beds, good water pressure, homely. It had everything except a full length mirror. Quick walk to lighthouse, scenic views, penguins, paddy melons, bird life and seals. Loved it! Thank you again, from the Queenslanders

An experience not to be missed. We spent 2 nights in a 2 bedroom cottage which could well have housed 8!. Recently refurbished, with lovely carpets, nice kitchen and bathroom. Superb grounds, with a charming museum and cafe on site. Beautiful walks with light houses and bays. A beautiful church also overlooks the Pilot station site.

Great spot, rooms quaint and rustic, but clean and tidy

From the moment I began the booking process to the moment we departed, after a joyous weekend of indulgence and celebration, the experience of dealing with Anita Lewis and her team was exceptionally positive. We had travelled back to Tasmania for a significant family anniversary - and we chose Low Head as the venue because of generations of happy holidays. So, much was at stake. There was never a reason to worry. The accommodation in the three houses we had booked was excellent. It can be a little ‘fresh’ at Low Head in Winter. However, we were always snug - even with the wild winds roaring outside. Everything we could need was at hand. However, the highlight was the beautiful meals produced by Anita - truly, a gourmet delight! This extended to a four course dinner, with fine wines, served to a dozen guests in high style - rounded off by a superb dessert cake made by the talented Frankie. And this was the pattern overall - every meal delicious. Finally, there is the beauty of Low Head and its environs, the incredible opportunity of seeing penguins return to roost after a day at sea - and so much more. So, if you’re looking for a Winter escape, or - in any season - a special place to celebrate with fine food and exceptional hospitality, you should consider the Low Head Pilot Station.

Amazing location and accommodation. Very relaxing. We really didn't want to leave. Anita was extremely helpful and professional. She went out of her way to ensure our stay was amazing. It was my favourite stop in our Tasmanian adventure. Thank you!!

An amazing location with beautiful and comfortable accommodation. We also highly recommend the Seafood Shack where we had the most delicious calamari salad, chicken burgers and coffee! We will be back!

Authentic original cottage, sleeps 8 in 4 bedrooms, large indoor dining area and outdoor table space and large kitchen and lounge area with 2 bathrooms with showers and 3 toilets, one bath. Lovely views of the Tamar river looking south, Next door to the Low Head Pilot Station Museum which was very interesting.
