A delightful experience, and exactly what we wanted for the meal. Half way through a 900km drive back to Sydney, we were ready for a home-made burger from a local eatery, a decent coffee, and a bit of a break. On cue, a big sign for Deepwater Roadhouse caught our eye on the road heading south. So we stopped. It was worth it. The place looks nothing special: it's a servo with an eatery, and that describes the classic Australian roadsider. We weren't there for the decor, so a clean practical dining area was just fine.The burgers were made to order - our choices, not a formula - and the food was delicious. Pricing was fine, so we rate this as good value.Notable: a good choice in music mix-tapes. In stark contrast to some other reviews, the manager was super-friendly, and we had a pleasant discussion about the recipe for a good espresso. I left with the impression that anything I didn't like would have been fixed with a smile.What do you want from a roadside cafe in an unfamiliar town? I'd say exactly what we received.

A lovely lass served us. She was doing everything and coping very well. Food was yummy. Will go there again when on holidays

Under new management, the roadhouse is now open on weekends. Open from 6am to 9pm, unlead, premium 95, diesel.

Driving back from Qld to Victoria. Thought we would stop in for lunch. Small town it’s nice to eat and wander around. It was 12.30 pm. Lunch time. Very little in the Bain Marie just a Chico roll and a couple of other fried items. Full sit down area to eat but wouldn’t cook anything else up. Not even some chips. Asked for chicken salt on what was purchased. Seemed like a bother to ask. Snatched the money out of my hand. Was very rude. Don’t bother stopping there.

We allways stop at Deepwater when caravaning as a rest stop. We haven't been to the roadhouse before, so today Sunday 4th September 2022 my wife and I had a wonderful fresh cooked meal and English breakfast tea. Ebony was the waiter, cook, cashier and friendly smiling face who was pleasant to everyone. PS the food was fantastic. Thank you from Johnny, Nancy and Phoebe.

Lovely staff, horrible owner.Had to stop for some ice to keep some food fresh. The lady in the service station was friendly and helpful. No problems there.We were parked in front of the ice box because we were getting ice. No one else at the station at that time.Queue a man in a truck driving up, screaming at us that he was the owner of the service station and demanding we move the car while gesturing threateningly. I honestly thought I might have to call the police he seemed so angry because we were parked in front of the ice box in a way that meant he would have had to go around us.The 'owner' as he claimed, was so unbelievably rude and threatening that I feel so sorry for anyone that has to work here and deal with him on a regular basis.Would not go here again just to avoid ever having to deal with the owner. Which is a shame because the staff there was actually perfectly nice and helpful.

We stopped here for breakfast on a Monday morning, we dined in, and the food was fairly priced and was filling. Well worth a visit

Service was so friendly! Coffee was really good & breakfast was yummy. So happy we choose to pull over for a break in our drive!
