Blue Gum Walk
Good walk, which can be extended to many other trails. - and very close to train station!!However, I believe that there are things people should consider/ know1) Google map says the Blue Gum Walk starts from Quarry Rd, but in fact, the starting point is The Great North walk" which will bring people to "Blue gum walk" eventually.I spent nearly 15 minutes to find out a way to Blue Gum walk while walking back and forth. One of my favourite walks in the Blue Mountains. Walking on easy fire trails surrounded by beautiful blue gums and palms. Stunning views from top of the escarpment.

This little gem of a 2-3 hour medium difficulty walk starting on the left at the trail head of Quarry Rd end(first right on Dural St) and meanders down through the valley behind local houses until you meet some very historic steps, recently reconditioned; see some beautiful blue gums, caves and bird life along the way until you meet the picnic park in the valley after about 20 minutes ambling. Stay at the Park for lunch/play and then return back to start. OR you may desire to walk onto the Fishponds through some great gum forests. Google: Blue Gum Walk and Fishpond Walk for more info. You may also take a short walk to 'Ginger Meggs' Park down Valley Road; a park dedicated to the local creator of the comic strip, 'Ginger Meggs'.

Nice walk on a sunny winter weekend, we could hear the rifle shots from the distance, after all there’s a rifle range in the vicinity. The only thing that might be improved is the signs & direction. Otherwise all is peachy.

The Google drop point is actually a BIKE trail! You need to walk a bit further, 28 quarry road is the correct starting point. You will see a sign shows walking only and no bikes. Lucky there was a lovely lady who told us today, otherwise it would be dangerous for everyone. The walk is close to public transport and we found parking ok on week days. I tried to amend in Google map but no luck.

Blue Gum Walk
Awesome little trail, great for a day out. The walk itself is fairly easy - saw plenty of children and people of all types making their way through the bush. I like that it was fairly close to Hornsby train station, no car needed and plenty of spots to grab food once you’re finished and worked up an appetite! The only downside is that it was fairly busy, so don’t expect a particularly silent or peaceful hike.
