Just picked up 2 blazers which were perfectly altered from the team here. They are my go to for any tailoring and I can’t recommend them enough. Have saved me a few times with last minute alterations, and I’m so glad to know a tailor that does such high quality work.

I had a new suit tailored for $241. Pick up scheduled for 11 days later.Prices were;$33 for pant hems shortened$57 for vest sides taken in$150 for suit shoulders remoded.. I was made to pay upfront. See below for my opinion on quality of work.Overall, dissappointing service.As a walk in, I was turned away and told to come back later.Phoned beforehand the next time, informed a time and arrived to an empty store.When measured I was prompted to shorten the sleeves before mentioning anything. I wanted the shoulders remoded so agreed when told the sleeves could be done when remoding shoulders.11 days later, 3 hours before scheduled pickup, I phoned to verify it was ready. It hadn't been started. I turned up the next day to give them time to do it.The vest was perfect (hence the 2 rating instead of a 1).The pants had an obvious glue line showing through the outside where leg hems were taken up.The jacket shoulders looked unchanged, with the dent on the shoulder I wanted removed remaining. The sleeves were shortened at the wrists (making the buttons look oddly placed). Tess said the shoulders were done, she remembered it. Said to take them home and bring them back if unhappy.Since the vest was done well I'm taking the 2 items back for another chance to renew faith. (Edit.. I didnt take them back as the first experience had me doubtful they would do it right)Hopefully staff won't make me feel below them again and the work won't take as long to complete.

Very disappointed to be writing this review, as I specifically picked Tess Fashions for the consistent good reviews and that they advertise costume work on their website.Took in a floor-length skirt to be hemmed, and requested a zipper the entire length of the skirt so that it may be opened up and removed during a dance performance. Went in 4 days later and the hem was wonderful, but the zipper only went to my hip, not at all what I asked for. The lady told me they did not have zippers that were long enough for my skirt, so I requested snap buttons (I figured I was already paying, so I may as well pay for craftsmanship that was better than my own). I returned 3 days later, and my skirt now has Velcro down the length, again not at all what I had asked for. As a dancer, Velcro is the devil as it catches on and tears delicate fabrics like stockings, lace and other costume pieces. I was too frustrated at the disrespectful service that I just wanted to take my garment and leave, so I paid the outrageous $146 charge for a job I could have done myself in one day.

Needed some urgent alterations done for a wedding. The lovely lady was able to have all our alterations done on the day. Good quality work also. Highly recommend.

I have been using Tess for alterations and repairs for years now. I am always amazed at the finish on the repairs and alterations. She mirrors the workmanship of the designer I am entrusting her with, so as not to compromise the product. When a French seam has been used she makes sure it is once again finished in the same way, seamlessly.Her professionalism and friendly staff can't be faulted. No other seamstress compares for quality and service.

My husband to be had his wedding suit pants tailored" at another company. They were so poorly done we had to repurchase his suit pants and on recommendation took them to Tess. She has done an incredible job and they look 150%. Would never go anywhere else for an important job to be done. Marginally pricier than other places but well worth it for the quality."

We came in at 5 mintutes past closing time and the door was still open.t The lovely young lady was more than happy to help us. We needed my partners pants hemming as we had a funeral to attend the next morning, and she was more than happy to hem them on the spot. Ten minutes later we left with the pants hemmed. Wonderful service and very affordable! Thank you very much. Highly recommended.

Excellent workmanship at Tess Fashions, they quote fair prices for straightforward services, and very reasonable prices for extra work.I had a two-piece dinner suited taken in just about everywhere - was very happy with the result. I also had a velvet jacket trimmed - excellent quality results.A bit of constructive criticism: better communication would be appreciated - I tried to call multiple times and couldn't get through and some important texts went unanswered as well. But I am very satisfied with the result.Very pleasant and professional staff too!

I'd like to register my absolute disgust with this self owned alterations company and the service i received thereafter. Let me start by saying that I have been a long term customer of 'Tess Fashions' and have spent thousands of dollars there over the past 3-4 years. The prices here are by no measure 'cheap' and you will pay a premium for the alterations requested. In saying this you would expect the level of quality to be somewhat complimenting of the price tag charged. I'd like to share my recent sour experience with 'Tess Fashions' which has led me to never do business with her again. Back in late NOV 2016 I took my $450.00 Hugo Boss Pants along to have some minor holes in the saddle area repaired. Two small holes costing $38. And have only just found out today that this same job can be accommodated at a different alterations company for $22. Further to my point previous there is a price hike here at 'Tess Fashions'. It was not till 2 months after that the holes began reappearing. (Keep in mind i am not running a marathon in my suit pants, nor are they pants that are worn daily so you would think the top notch craftmanship would last longer than 2 months right? Wrong. Due to not working or residing close to the city it took me several months to get the pants back to Tess for repair. Noting on her tax invoice that she guarantees her workmanship for a period of 6 months i was under the impression that there would be no issue with repairing this free of charge. I was sadly mistaken. When discussing this with her staff on the counter they were rude and condescending in their manner which is when i requested to speak with Tess directly to discuss the matter. Upon looking at the pants she claims that this would not be covered under her 6 months workmanship guarantee and that i would need to outlay another $38.00 to repair this again. I was gobsmacked that this was her response and expressed my disappointment with her refusal to repair my pants at her own cost as guaranteed by her tax invoice. I would strongly recommend steering clear of this alterations company as you may well find yourself in the exact same position where you feel absolutely helpless as a consumer. If i could rate in minus i would.
