Bright Velo Hotel

Awesome place great atmosphere but the shared plates are a bit to expensive for what you get and where you are!$12 bucks for 1 scollop in Bright high country not Brighton darling!You will have better luck with a family friendly menu!

Deluxe King Suite. Nice & clean. Basically just a bed & bathroom. No bench or table. Only one chair so when we felt like nibbles we sat on the bed or floor. The smallest bar fridge I’ve used. Staff are friendly. I really enjoyed the food in the restaurant down stairs. Great location.

We stayed in a heritage room which was very well appointed, spacious and super comfortable with access to a balcony where we enjoyed our morning coffee watching the day begin . For the bike riders there is secure storage. ( Bright is a bike riders paradise) For socialising you can enjoy the whiskey bar or the bistro with outdoor seating which is great on a sunny afternoon. Very nicely renovated, great friendly staff. We will be back. Thanks.

This is going to sound trite but when I say I have delayed this review because I was determined to get it right, I am telling the truth. I didn’t want to slap together a few words of encouragement and leave it at that… I want to convey to you just how wonderful this place is.The first thing that strikes you about the Velo Bright is how much it seems to offer in such a small area.Renovated and expanded this place is warm, stylish and inviting.We were given a code (ala AirBnB style) and this gave us 24 hour access to the building and our room. Nice and easy.Our first room (more on that later) was small but functional, warm and very stylish. But it was the bathroom and shower that blew us away and you will be no different. No picture will do this shower justice and it is very clear that a lot of care and attention has been poured into the design and finish of this boudoir.Flourishes like tiles that extend up the wall and over your head, clearly not necessary, make it obvious that this was designed to be enjoyed and as well as be functional.We made our way to the bar and was struck by how warm and cosy it was what with its use of wood and exposed beams. The beautiful open fire and plush furnishings also helped us enjoy a beer that was, after a long drive, essential.It was then we were approach by the manager who, seemingly for no reason, offered to upgrade our room simply because we were the only guests that night.This second room was much larger with a living area as well as bedroom but an even bigger version of the incredible shower from the previous room.This room went onto enhance an already wonderful experience.Dinner at the restaurant was very since and the staff friendly and accomodating.But it was when we went to leave that the bar manager struck up a conversation that lead him to open the whisky bar - just for us - so we could enjoy a whiskey in private.The staff at the Velo are friendly and make you feel at home and while it could be argued this is what they are supposed to do, it is their flexibility and imagination that make this a very special place. They go outside the square to give you the best possible stay whether that be for one night or ten.I would happily drive to Bright just to stay there again… it really was that special.

We so much loved our weekend get away, the hotel located in a quiet and beautiful corner of the town right at the center of all that Bright can offer. Rooms are well designed and recently renovated with a great vibe. Much recommend it.

The service was great, thank you Michelle you are the perfect waitress. It was a steak night and when the meal arrived the steak was cold. I asked for medium rare but got medium plus. The salad was sparse. On the whole well overpriced. Service excellent. Prices over the top.

Stayed in room 1 deluxe suite. Calling this a hotel is a stretch, I’d call it serviced apartments with a bar and restaurant out the back. Only contact was via text which was fine and responsive. Room was very neat and modernised. Partner said the bathroom is not private enough for women. Small bed. Blanket was way too much, cooked in our sleep. Noisey rooms, especially from the street. Car park needs better management (arrived to no spaces being available as everyone had parked half a car width away from each other, welcoming text suggested parking in the street but it’s only 2 hour parking) Bike room is excellent. Overall was fine. Very awkward and impersonal at first but once you get the hang it was okay.

Highly recommend Bright Empire Velo, the staff are very accommodating and friendly . The rooms are clean and comfy. It's in the heart of Bright in the township, hardly have to use the car could walk , so no worries about finding parks whilst you were out to eat or shop. The beauty of the place was they have a bike locker room so that your bikes could be stored securely. Every room had a code that needed to be entered and there was no key to worry about loosing or locking it in the room as you left all you had to do is enter the code to your room and enter it and when you went just shut the door behind you. The locker room also had a code system to get in and it was the same as your room code, check in was late with a text the morning you were arriving with instructions to your room and your unique room code for your room to use throughout your stay and checkout was just a phone call to say you had left and the room was cleared for the maid to clean your room for the next visitors to use. Absolutely amazing. The designer hit nail on the head; rooms are clean, cosy yet very modern. The whiskey bar is a hidden gem, food is great, friendly knowledgeable staff.Can't wait to see new bikes. Bright Velo has certainly raised the bar.Well done.
