The dine-in and take-away menus are different, with a limited menu available for take-outs. The fish & chips are only available for take-out. I prefer the battered fish here over D'lish as it is firmer, although it is also saltier.

Pros: crispy batter, perfectly cooked fish, great fries. The burger had breadcrumbs and it was served with chips (very good, but I would have preferred fries). Large wedge of lemon and fantastic home made tartar sauce. The location on the foreshore in the less busy part of St Kilda makes it easier to find parking. It would be great in summer to sit on the beach and eat fish and chips because it is beautiful here. The coffee is very good.Bad: limited seating, park bench only. Not viable to sit outside when it rains (remember, this is Melbourne). No fish selection, Rockling is all that is available. Limited menu. A bit expensive.

Pipis Kiosk is a great spot to grab a takeaway coffee or small bite to eat whilst at the beach or on a walk. The coffee is good and the food is nice, yet a little expensive.Through the door and around the back of the kiosk is Pipis Dining Room which we haven’t been too yet but it looks gorgeous, with glass floor to ceiling windows, overlooking views of the beach.

So apparently if you are a YouTube food blogger you can get fish & chips from the kiosk served to your table on a dinner plate, but if you are just an ordinary customer, you have to finish eating from the restaurant menu and get the fish & chips to takeaway. We sat at the outdoor tables like him and ate similar food. If we spent about $200 on food/drinks from your restaurant, why not allow us to have fish & chips from the kiosk served to our table like him? Sounds bizarre, right?Well we tried to finish the restaurant food as quickly as we could, but unfortunately the food overall took about 1.5 hours to come out! Each dish came separately, despite ordering mainly entrees. We told a female staff when only two entrees came after 40 minutes, and surprisingly, kid-you-not, said in a sarcastic manner, “Perfection needs to wait!”. Couldn’t even give a simple apology! To be frank, actually the food wasn’t perfect. Although texture-wise was smooth, flavour-wise was maybe 6/10, king prawn heads were still a bit raw, and the arrow squid had a little fishy smell.By the time we wanted to get fish & chips takeaway (which we wanted to eat at our table, but was firm from the beginning when we said we came here for the fish & chips (alongside ordering the restaurant food), on not being allowed), they were sold out!If you only act nice to people who review your restaurant to give you some good publicity, whilst treat others like us differently, like we’re not worthy and cheap (but we weren’t, read above) and don’t deserve the same treatment, that’s really disappointing and a shame.UPDATE: Ok, yes he did say that “There’s two sides to the kiosk”, but he did also say “We’re gonna be able taste a few dishes from both sides including the fish and chips over from the kiosk side as well as some grilled Dory fish ... from the other side. ... We’re getting the best of everything ... to table. Please see the video below, where you served fish & chips to his table.I know it is not from the bistro menu but rather from the kiosk. But just don’t make an exception for him, and allow him to enjoy from “both sides of the kiosk” at the same time!

Pippins was a new surprise for me. A clever and very well executed menu, prepared and served very well. It was a nice experience of casual or not, as you wish, dining, with excellent food and wine.

Had a fabulous dinner last night at Pipi’s. We’ve always walked past it and was very glad to finally make it to dinner! The Chef’s set menu is well worth it - every course was delicious from the house made bread, the fresh small bites through to the mains and dessert. Service was excellent as well. The decor is cosy and lovely and the location right by the beach is perfection.

Stopped by for a quick lunch while riding the bay trail and ordered the Reuben sandwich for $16. Was delicious and filling without being too substantial. The side of seaweed potato crisps was a nice touch.

Brilliant service and delicious food! We safely parked our bikes and the puppy! & enjoyed epic water views sitting outside, while devouring incredible food! Iv never heard oh rhubarb with oysters! Wow! It’s Devine! And u must try their whole fish : incredible flavours. We highly recommend. We didn’t go inside as we had the dog, but the restaurant had flair and pizazz! It looks like a local fave.

Stopped by for a coffee on a weekday. The restaurant wasn’t open but looks like a great spot and menu looks solid. Coffee was great.
