At all and any costs, avoid building with Masterton.Avoid the bait that the display homes or the sales team may provide, and don't believe any promises that are made - none of them will be upheld. What you will find is that, once you make deposit, the issues will begin to pile up one after the other. Every week you will face a new problem. They will use the biased contract that you signed against you and your interests. There are delays after delays, most of which are justified with excuses without sufficient reason.Starting from pre-construction until throughout the construction period you will face the most issues. In our case, more than one year has passed, and our house is only 20-30% built. If this pace continues, our straight-forward and simple house will take, optimistically, take 2-3 years to finish. What a waste of time of money. So, please, be careful and avoid this company if you can.

Just wanted to say that Wendy at the head office desk is amazing. Always so helpful with everything and a pleasure to deal with. Also extremely happy with my pre con and con coordinators Gina and Angela.

Dealing with these people is an absollute nightmare. The held up constructionf or two years. The despite the contract saying earthworks were to be done by Casterton, they wanted to change $30000 ABOVE contract price, know we could bet it doe privately for less we got a private contactor to do it for $7000, using the plans and levels they provided (with their hand writing of the levels on them!) They have now come back and said the numbers were wrong that they gave us. Materton now expect us to pay for more work. Don't listen to the hype this is the third house I have built and they have been the worst by far. Don't trust them!

A roll of a dice on quality,it took ages to build and the qaulity is horrendous, will not reccomend looks nothing like the display homes. Go with masterton if you dont mind wasting your hard earned money, all their good reviews were from people looking at the display homes not actual home owners. The paint on doors were runny, the garage is loud as hell and has a gap,the corners are not sqaure some tiles have no filling, gaps everywhere, paint all over the switches and outlets, no toliet roll holder and threatre room door handles looks good .The inspection was done with lots of attention to imperfections.See for yourself in the photos

Our DA in Concord was approved by council in July 2017. The slab was supposed to be poured within 4-6 weeks of DA approval. It was not poured until November 2017. At that time, Masterton realised they FORGOT to order the frame for the house. They delivered the frames mid-Dec, and left it on the slab until mid-end of January 2017. In this time, Masterton had changed construction managers 2 times (Geoffrey Hannah GONE, Ben Page GONE). In this time, it had not rained 1 single drop, and Masterton made every single excuse they could to delay the project. As of today, the project is supposed to be 1 month away from HANDOVER - the bricks are not even up yet (see photo)If you are using these guys, make sure you document everything with FairTrading, so that you can make a claim following your handover.Job#2010878

I can honestly say my experience so far is less than a happy one.We signed up in February 2021, it took 11 months for any physical work to actually start. Our build started with a non-event, the work was not started for a couple of weeks after the given date. There seems to be a companywide lack of communication from all levels of staff from pre-construction right through to our current building stage (excluding sales Maria Dimeska & Colour Consultant Nicole King, who always returned our calls & answered our questions, both ironically no longer work for Masterton). No one seems to be able to answer a phone forcing you to leave a message, which may on the rare occasion be replied to. However most of our requests (voicemail & email) in pre-construction & construction stages go unanswered. Our current weekly updates in construction stage have morphed into monthly it would seem, with a continuing of our emails & phone messages falling on deaf ears. The disappointment continued into the building process & the fact that we have had to point out things & request that they be fixed, does not give us any confidence. Ungalvanized metal being welded into place instead of galvanised as stated on the plans without anyone on site noticing. We have had cracked & warped timbers in the frame that have needed to be replaced including a cracked LVL, but only after complaining. So many of the screws that are supposed to hold the sub floor down are not securing anything, they are next to the beam instead of into the beam, & again without anybody on site noticing, not the carpenter who did it or the site supervisor. Even after pointing this out there is still parts not secured properly. The yellow tongue sub flooring has had 20mm holes drilled into it to drain standing water & sections remain warped, 1 section has 6 x 20mm holes. Site supervisor says this is fine & does not need to be replaced as this is a common practice. Our site supervisor’s come & go every month or 2 (we are now onto our 5th) so it feels as if no one is actually taking any responsibility or caring what or when anything happens. We are now 1 year 8 months into the build from signing up & have a completion date continually being moved, still not at lockup stage, roofing is still not finished.Masterton welcomed us to the construction phase on 2nd Dec 2021 & has continually worked at a snail’s pace ever since, also adding every wet day to our expected completion. Our site seems to have more off days than work days. This means our frame & flooring has been in the weather now for 7 months.I acknowledge that the wet weather & Covid 19 is a contributing factor to the build time, however the lack of communication & quality control cannot be attributed to this.In reading Masterton’s other recent google reviews I see we are not alone & this seems to be your standard level of customer service.I find this less than acceptable from such a well know company, that should be much more professional than this.

Honest and authentic review. This is my 4th investment property, so I have skin in the game and have dealt with 3 other builders. I would say this is my worst experience. The sales consultant was quite pleasant and easy to talk to. I have made it clear that I was looking for a turnkey or ready to move in house. I was given a quote and a contract which I was told covers everything and on paper, they did.To date, almost 3 months later, construction hasn't commenced as they have been extremely slow. And what's worst, and so far, I have now to pay for additional $8,000 to $10,000 more in unforeseen costs.Specifically, one of the things they did is add a provisional item with an estimated cost" for a key component of the build. Then after you sign

Worst Company. We wished that we have never build with them. Delays after delays covid as an excuse. We drove a few times at the place ( building sites ) noticed doors left open especially during the lock up. Here comes we were give 90 days. With things needed fixing up . We raise concern about the chip on the kitchen door, site supervisor advised us during the final inspection that it will be fixed. We moved in gotten the keys after delays after delays. The chips has not been fixed. We put it on the 90 day form to have it fixed going back forth email we were told it’s not part of the warranty. We also have the air conditioning panel full of scratch when we moved and the protective plastic was already been removed. When we listed this in the 90 day form we were told they will not be replacing it. Showing us the photo that the air conditioning company have confined there were no scratch and no under tradies came in to the place after it has been installed. Were in fact incorrect . During the lock ups 3 days before we got handed the keys the door at the houses were left open. Masterton would not take responsibility that they are incompetent leaving building sites locked up. Anything could have happened during those times and yet are going on that it will not be replaced. We are now due to turn up at their office to raise our concerns about the unhappiness with them.

Having now completed our build with Masterton and due to receive our keys this week, to say we are excited is an understatement. We have had an overall great experience with very few delays and mishaps once we were through post construction. I think this is a huge accomplishment for Masterton and the team despite finding ourself in the middle of a once in 100 year pandemic. We would like to say a huge thank you to all the Masterton team but in particular Chris Wilkinson from sales, Janie Issa from construction coordination and last but defiantly not least, our building manager Mark Coy (aka the Genie) making all our wishes come true.We are absolutely gobsmacked with the beautiful home you have built us. Our dream is now a reality and we can’t wait to make wonderful family memories in our new masterton home. Thanks teamRick and Julie M
