Desert Gardens Hotel - Ayers Rock Resort
Ayers Rock Resort is the only game in town so you don't have much choice, Desert Gardens is nice, quiet, has a couple of restaurants, comfy beds, lovely bathroom. It could do with more kitchen facilities for those who don't want to line up for an hour for dinner at the restaurant, you have to park your car miles away (for those of us used to motels), and everything is overpriced. Shortish trip to Uluru, lots of facilities in the resort like an IGA, cafes, petrol station, pools, etc.

Great location for visiting Uluru. Rooms very comfortable. Easy walk to the village and shuttle bus circulates constantly in the resort. For long haul guests the laundry was a very welcome facility.

Giving this three stars because this place needs some work. The rooms look good on the outside, but inside (the part that counts) are in rough shape and need a remodel.Additionally, design issues with the rooms make an easy entry point for native creatures. The front desk warns about this, but take it seriously. Keep your luggage off of the floor.

Very comfortable rooms, quiet airconditioner and nice trees and greenery in the Desert. Very good buffet breakfast, but book the day before for discount. The pool was welcome after a day's walking and looking. Close to all amenities. If you book separate trips, be early and ready for pickup and don't expect the bus driver to call your names out - ask when they pull up in front of the hotel. Don't miss out like we did...

Spent three days here recently. It was a spontaneous trip with friends, my first trip to the Outback and my expectations were met beyond belief. The staff at the hotel were absolutely lovely and very kind. We had a mouse in our room, it happens, and they were more than helpful in assisting us. Other than the mouse, the rooms were tidy. Comfortable. Clean and very welcoming. Two adults fit in well without tripping on one another. An easy walk to the town center, where you will find a small selection of shops and a grocery.Mangata Bistro & Bar was absolutely delightful! They have a selection for every dietary need on the menu and the staff are so friendly. Every thing from the Fish to Kangaroo to the coffee were superb.

This hotel Should be 5 stars the way we have enjoyed so much! Felt such a deep sense of connection with all the workers here every single one of them has managed to put a smile on our faces. Sharly, the porter man at front desk was such a big help to us in every sense. Assisted us with each and every inquiry and never failed to give a big wave every time he saw us!Thank you Dessert Gardens!

We spent three very nice days in this hotel. It was a pleasure to arrive in our large room. Staff were all wonderful and food at the two restaurants was excellent. Relaxing by the pool or our terrace outside our room was a great way to unwind after a day of exploring the region.A big downside was noise filtering into our room from other rooms. Noise mainly came from the hotels TV advertising. Hotel policy is to leave TVs on with sound meaning empty rooms play promo stuff even during the night. We got the TV in one room next door switched off but not the other. A terrible intrusion into an otherwise peaceful stay.

Great resort my only complaint would be the prices, but it is very remote. Star tour was cancelled. Field of lights was cool. Camels at sunrise were the highlight of the visit.

Everything this hotel offers was excellent! From first arrival, and during the day, until late at night, everything was beyond excellent! The service, the food, the luxuriously comfortable beds and thick towels just added to the overall impeccable resort feel. Desert Gardens and all the staff know how to make you feel welcome and know how to make your holidays extra special. The help with organizing tours and experiences were well appreciated. The service and delectable native inspired menus at Mangata at Argnuli restaurant was on par with the finest dining I have ever experienced. Will I return.... Absolutely! Next time during the wet season, and, I will choose Desert Gardens again!

Location, rooms and service all good. Our only disappointment being we rang them direct to book our accommodation as my husband is in a wheelchair and therefore we require an accessible room and bathroom. On our arrival to our room all looked great until we inspected the bathroom which was just a normal standard bathroom, shower screened shower with door which when in a wheelchair and unable to walk is no use what do ever. We then returned to reception, very helpful and walked us to another room that had the bathroom required but it was only for 2 persons we required beds for 3 as our daughter was with us and they weren't able to accommodate us with that other than paying for an additional room. We opted to keep the first and my husband made the best of the situation. This is something we have come across quite alot in these large resorts, for some reason their accessible rooms only accommodate 2,they obviously must think people with disabilities don't have families or what happens if a child has the disability are the family meant to sleep separately in different rooms and pay double, which is pretty pricey. This is definitely something they need to look at. Very disappointing for such a large resort, definitely has the room to gave multiple family rooms which are fully accessible, the national park itself has adequate facilities for the disabled. Also they should have car parking close to the disable rooms to unload atleast.
