Smeg Oven delivered damaged before ChristmasBrand new smeg oven was delivered severely damaged. I ordered from Appliances Online and they said the oven came straight from Smeg damaged; not them. Had already disconnected the old & organised to connect the new. Called immediately and they were out of stock (3 days after delivery); so left with no oven & to rush around trying to get one from somewhere else…10 days before Christmas. Worse still appliances online will not issue a refund for at least 2 days after it’s collected ( it was collected today) so won’t be able to go and purchase a new oven until 7 days before Christmas or do without given the timeframe ( fabulous when you have a big family). Won’t be purchasing another Smeg product, too risky, and can’t recommend when faulty items are delivered….too much hassle and disappointment involved. Had to have a Smeg kettle replaced last year as well because of paint bubbling; seems Smeg is no longer producing high quality appliances and not worth wasting time, nor money on nowadays.

Not impressed with Smeg service. My rangehood had one globe not working. Technician came & said that it's most likely the switch, which he was going to order. However, Smeg advised me soon after that this part is no longer available, but the charge of $137 for callout fee is still applicable. It's wrong to charge customers for not providing necessary part/s & service, but retailers do... because they CAN.

We purchased a Smeg 900mm gas oven and a Smeg dishwasher after the sales rep convinced us to go with Smeg against our original choice of Westinghouse. The oven was installed and turned on, within a few minutes the powder coating on the pot rests began to pop off and rusted material was found beneath it. It was obvious the powder coating was done on top of rusted and or dirty material. I contacted Smeg and they replaced them. A few weeks later, the oven broke down. Smeg repaired it. A month or so later, it broke down again. Smeg attended and repaired it again. Once again, the oven broke down. The fan now sounded like a plane was about to take off. Once again, Smeg repaired it. I informed them I was not happy with the product and have been more than patient. If it fails again, I will expect a refund. You guessed it, around a month later the same thing happened. The store we purchased it from took it back and replaced it with the Westinghouse we chose originally. We have had it two years now with no problems.Like I said, we also purchased a Smeg dishwasher. At a guess, it has been repaired four or five times. Now it is out of warranty and broken down again. I wouldn’t recommend buying a Smeg product to anyone. Their service is good, but I don’t want to feel like the repair man and I have become friends due to his frequent visits. I’m going to throw out this Smeg dishwasher and go buy myself a Westinghouse. What a waste of money!

Loved my Smeg espresso machine so when it broke down I was devastated. Got in touch with the Smeg service team and they are replacing the product even though it was 2 years out of warranty. Great customer service

There was a problem (not switching on) with the SMEG dishwasher of the new house that I bought, Didn't know what to do (didn't even have any documents). Just called (02) 8667 4888 and they sent a service technician (Lloyd - THAHNK YOU !! ) within 2 day to fix the dishwasher. Very happy with the level of service !!!
