Just came back from Cruise. One of our itinerary was cancelled. My friends got the Insurance covered by Westpac Credit card ( free cover fees ) and others Got covered by Allianz ( paid fees ) But I'm not cover and I paid the premium fees ( the Work ) at TID. I totally felt stupid as TID customer. Will try my best to share my experiences to everyone. TID is BAD

Awful Insurance company. I had items stolen from my luggage that was lost in the airport for few days and they alleged They don’t cover fragile items… the items were stolen not broken. Also I have been waiting for my tickets being refunded due to an airline mess up with my tickets for more than 4 months and they sent me an email asking for the same documents I had uploaded on the claim. I would definitely not recommend TID to anyone that want to travel with peace of mind. Customer service is a shame.Update: tried to contact the company again and they said I should hear back from them in 7 days. It’s been a month and still nothing. Don’t waist your money.

TID gets your business on price and then from there it is all downhill. A terrible company to deal with if you need" anything more than paying a premium for peace of mind. All you get is a bag full of "sorry we can't help""

My flight was delayed by one day and claimed for loss of only one nights accommodation, Claim was rejected due to a clause operational requirements! When signing up my policy covered delays but not for that, I believe I was mislead, I guess read the fine print? Clause 587 LoL never again TID, my next trip I have purchased FREELY insurance they have a optional extra for flight inconvenience package.

Beware!!! They take your premium easily, but claiming on your policy is painful. After a car accident on holiday, leaving me $4950 out of pocket for the excess to the rental company, I tried to claim online, uploaded all the relevant documents, then it failed to process at the last step. When I called, after a long wait on hold, I was told there was a glitch in their system so I had to email everything through. Over the next few weeks, I was asked to supply the same documents multiple times, which restarted their '10 day claim resolution' requirements each time. Then they shifted me to a new claims handler. Any attempt to contact the claims department resulted in a 45min wait on hold, to be told that the claims department cannot be contacted. Then the amount paid back to us was many hundreds of dollars less than the amount we paid to the rental car company as the excess. They failed to cover the GST on the repair costs, which came to roughly $400!!! Buyer beware! We won't be dealing with TID or any company affliated with NIB Insurance Claims again.

Never AgainBought the insurance in May 2022, 2 suitcases where broken on the trip by copa, I have lodged the claim. After that poor communication and tired to try to follow up after more then 6 moths end up from 350$ refund, I have received only 100$ as they have 250$ excess that was never advised or agreed, but its written somewhere in their long T&C

BEWARE! Easy and low cost purchase, but like many others have noted, claim system is terrible. Contracted COVID during a walking trip in Kakadu, and was evacuated to Darwin and placed in isolation at a hotel. TID was quite helpful on the emergency line, stating that additional costs from isolation was claimable (up to $2500 limit), and that I just needed to report my case to the NT Government (done). So far so good! Claimed as soon as I returned via email to sales team (claims email address was not working). Followed up with a phone call - yes it was forwarded. Actually not forwarded, had to do another online claim. Now registered, but no response after a month (so much for 10 day turn around). Ringing help line is useless - they just state claims department are very busy (you can't talk to then direct), and that someone will get back to me. Never happens. A simple email or call to say what is happening and if more documentation is needed would be nice,Don't use this company - cheap but you get what you pay for!

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME, ENERGY AND MONEY!!!! I've been trying to claim my cancelled Europe trip since JUNE due to being physically assaulted. we had the works " cover and have recieved nothing back from TID at this point they won't even reply to our emails and didn't even pay the full amount of my hospital fees??? their emergancy assistance team couldn't even give us a straight answer at the time of the incident leaving us stuck in budapest for almost a week as i was unfit to fly. Dealing with this company has made the most traumatic experience of my life 100x worse. 0/10 will never use again."

I wanted to do my due diligence in terms of checking some crucial information regarding the terms and conditions of my policy and so I called the company to speak to them about one specific clause before travelling overseas.Due to circumstances I ended up having to make a claim in relation to this particular clause.Long story short, they denied my claim. Even though they assured me I'd be able to claim if this particular event were to occur. The information I was given over the phone was by their representative was false and misleading.I requested to be supplied with the recording of the call. It supported my argument and proved that they gave false and misleading information during the call. They still continue to deny the claim however I've run out of steam in order to pursue this further.This resulted in me out of pocket a few thousand dollars. I now tell all of my friends and family to avoid.

Been a loyal customer for how many years and even recommended to friends, but never again. Bad communication, submitted a claim for over a month now and never heard from them - no status and no progress after multiple emails. Time to switch and find a more reliable insurance company the next time we go overseas.Belinda - I emailed again one week ago forwarding the messages sent since 10th of November using the email address that you have given but still no response whatsoever.
