Wild Life Bakery
I've probably bought bread from every bakery on the north side over the past ten years and nothing comes close to wild life! The brown rice porridge loaf is legendary, and their sandwiches are so perfectly balanced and delicious. Best vegan sandwiches you'll find in Melbourne ! Probably my favourite place ever to get coffee and something to eat, great relaxing interior too, I buy their loaves, cut them up and freeze them so I never run out!

I went there many times for a coffee on the go. They only offer 2 alternatives for non-dairy consumers: oat milk and soy milk. The coffee was absolutely delicious!!!.... I went recently to have lunch, they close early (around 3 pm I think) and I order a special menu of the day: a combination of salads, and again, it was delicious!... my salad was a full meal itself, after finished it I was absolutely satisfied. I loved the combination of colors, textures and the dressing full of flavors. I didn’t need to add nothing else. The dish came with a very thick slice of homemade -authentic- sourdough bread and a portion of butter aside. I loved the Wild Life Bakery, the vibes, friendly staff, the decoration, spacious, clean, well illuminated... I can’t wait to be in the surroundings again and have lunch there once more. A selection of a daily special plus a coffee was around $22/24, the prices are fair enough. Last but not least, you can buy very good quality bakery products there to take home, such as different kinds of breads, croissants and other sweet treats. I recommend

What a beautiful calm space. Discovered this bakery recently and had a great time. I find the space so beautiful and open.We had a nice chai and iced coffee as well as delicious pastries. They have a vegan cookie and carrot cake which were both delicious.

Nice place, good food, bakery workings on full display - adding to confidence in what is produced (& pleasure in seeing people displaying valued skills). Perhaps just a little noisy for us. Surprised to find adequate parking nearby!

This bakery in the small street of Brunswick will immediately draw you in with their heavenly aroma from their freshly baked goods and toasted sandwiches. They update their menus and create new and limited edition goods that I always find myself here. Their selection of cakes and pastries as well as their infamous kimchi toastie & caramelised onion toastie sell out so early bc they are that good.Almond croissant (4/5): the lamination and butteriness of the croissant is insane as I bit into that crunchy webbing. The almond frangipane was delicious but personally wasn’t mind-blowing as other reviews have stated. Wished to have more flakiness, as well as a bit of a softer interior to win my heart.Kimchi cheese sandwich(3/5): the sourdough bread is the star of the sandwich. So well buttered and toasted, which paired well with that tangy fermented kimchi and cheesy goodness. I love my kimchi religiously but the kimchi here was unfortunately a letdown as it had not been fermented enough given its sour overpowering taste.Their pies and sausage rolls are on another level. The flaky pastry obviously goes unsaid, but the filling is so complex - they love their mix of sweet and savoury, and aromatics. I always roll my eyes when I bite into their oversized pastries.Caramelised onion cheese sandwich (4.5/5): the aroma in this made me speechless. A nice sweet salty and tangy kick from the caramelised onion which paired so well with the consistently buttery sourdough.Look out for their specials bc they are always beyond amazing and wish they were here to say, esp their banoffee danish and apple walnut caramel koji turnover pastry.Food: 4Value: 3.5Ambience: 4.5Service: 4

Great bread, reasonable pain au chocolat and croissants - recommend you arrive early to ensure procurement of desired baked good as they sell quick! My good friend Dirk suggested we take a casual stroll down to this bakery. After training for many years as a pastry chef he is always looking to sample some sumptuous baked goods whenever an opportunity presents itself. The bread here is of the artisanal variety and looks absolutely sensational. Dirk’s assessment of the pain au chocolat was not quite as high, though still favourable. The pastry itself had good flavour but seemed to be a touch over-proofed, such was the amount of holes through the product. The chocolate was a touch too bitter for our liking, though I can appreciate that does come down to personal preference - however the distribution of the chocolate was not as wide as you would hope, so each mouthful was not quite balanced. Still, quite good.Lastly, the staff were very polite but could share their smiles with the world a touch more. With that said, they all carried themselves with poise and are clearly very capable - they should be commended.A wild life indeed!

A friend brought some for morning tea one day and they were so good I had to visit myself. When I went, we got takeaway but as I walked in the smell and warmth was so inviting. We ordered a scone, scroll, almond croissant and danish. They were all delicious! We will be back again!

Wild Life's been on the list for a while now, and it now evidently ranks in the top.All the pastries are a god send, the fastidious detail and craft noticeable in each baked good.I might have to relocate and become a local in this neighbourhood.
