Calcutta Kathi Rolls

Tried this for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately they had a very limited menu and my first choice was not available (but they offered a refund and extra item). Small portions, very greasy and expensive (for what it is). 2 rolls and 2 croquets for $45. Wont be going back.

Hands down one of the best food trucks in Sydney and one of the best things you can put in mouth. I am not sure why Kathi rolls have not taken off like a frog in a sock like Burgers in the town, but hey more for me!I love americana, but i have to say the Kathi Roll from these guys puts India on the map as far as food that can be eaten on the go... If you put a In&Out burger and one of these rolls in front of me and told me i could only choose one, I would be torn...and yes i just got back from the US recently...Its such simple meal, but each compnent is considered and perfectly balanced. The paratha bread is flakey, the filling is just enough, well spiced but not too spicey and the red oinion and twist of citris starts the party in your mouth.I order it with extra chillie, but that because like it hot, but in all honesty you dont need it. Chicken or Lamb, i cant choose so i get both and we're being honest here I usually grab a third for the next day...Its proabably a good thing they are only available on the weekends as i would just about have one every second night its just that good.Do yourself a favour, if you're into simple but extremely tasty food you have come and eat here!

Good taste, perfect spices and well packed overall. I had a chicken egg roll and egg rolls. Both were good.Few specialty Bengal dishes as well - as specials.Cons: Wait time can exceed 15-20 mins.Available on 2-3 days in a week. Right next to a public parking so parking is not a challenge.Club it up with Ambi’s chai and you’ll love the combo.

The rolls are quite good. But that's about it.! If you are expecting the taste of authentic kolkata style fish fry & biryani, you will be disappointed. We definitely were!! The biryani is NOT Kolkata biryani. Not even close. The flavors of 'Ator' and the spices were non-existent and the meat and potato pieces were undercooked. Basically tasted like any other awful biryani you get in the restaurants here Just adding a potato and egg doesn't make it a Kolkata biryani. Fish fry is pretty average as well.

The kathi rolls are amazing and unlike anything else you can find in Sydney. The flavor balance is spot on - so good! Top quality and fresh ingredients -make sure you say yes to chilli. Can't wait to try it again. If these guys came to Marrickville or Newtown, they would be legends.

Loved their warm hospitality and gave us an authentic taste of City of Joy. Must try.1. Fish cutlet is a must try.2. Lamb Kathi roll.

The best kathi rolls I’ve had in a very long time!.Im from Canberra and was visiting a friend in Sydney. I visited the food truck last night and I am truely blown away with their chicken and egg kathi roll. The owner suggested I try the lamb mince next time, and I will definitely come and get more when I’m in town the next time!Im now sitting in my living room in Canberra wishing I had picked up some Calcutta Kathi Rolls for dinner or had our very own Calcutta kathi roll in CanberraThe staff and owner was so lovely and personable! I would love to see them expand and grow :)

I recommend their signature Chicken Kathi roll which is so well curated that not a spice added out of proportion.Dhal Puri with dum aloo is something which exceeded my expectations. Presentation and taste both well executed.
