Quotes reasonably but takes forever to respond after awarding the job, If you don't like the job or don't want to do it-be upfront. Waited more than 4 months and finally gave up.Wasted my time!

When I first sought out quotes for fencing our property in Whitfield, I contacted 7 fence companies in Cairns. Marcel of Cairns Fencing Solutions was working in my neighbourhood and came over within an hour. Another mob came the next day. Three didn't return my calls and 2 made appointments that they didn't keep. Of the two quotes (of 7 attempts) I received, Marcel's quote was more $ than the other company but not by much. And here's the thing: the other mob wanted 80% of the money UP FRONT and they weren't even going to do the job themselves. They were only organising the jobs and then hiring other blokes to do the work and told us that we'd have to wait three weeks for someone to show up. THREE WEEKS with 80% of the $ UP FRONT!! Dodgy. I hired Marcel and I am very glad I did. The job was done ahead of his estimated time by about 10 days, on budget, the workmanship was very good and the gate he made for us is outstanding. My wife and I both found Marcel to be clear and direct in his communications with us, and his work ethic cannot be faulted. Once completed to our satisfaction, we were billed and given a nice people" discount probably because we treated him with the same respect he showed to us.
