The Original Woodshop

From our vague descriptions of what we thought we might like, Sean at the Original Woodshop has created a beautiful and incredibly high quality Victorian Ash kitchen island and four matching stools for our new house that could not be more perfect; I am completely in love with this custom piece! In the design phase, Sean consulted with us every step of the way and provided ideas and images to help us visualise our options and bring our ideas to life. He was happy to provide advice when requested, but ensured that everything was our decision; and was consistently professional, timely and responsive. He arrived at our house at the exact time on the agreed day, and despite me having already paid in full, came back a few days later to make a small adjustment, only required because our kitchen floor was not level. I barely even noticed the gap between the bench and the floor (2mm at most), let alone expected him to volunteer to address it, but back he came (again exactly at the agreed time) and even with that fix, he arrived prepared with materials for two remedial options to allow us to decide how we would prefer him to address it. Sean is clearly deeply committed to his work and to customer satisfaction - the person who recommended him to us described him as a perfectionist" and that was certainly our experience - he wanted this job to be perfect from our perspective

I had a dining table and an entertainment unit custom made by the Original Woodshop. Sean is an excellent communicator and was incredibly pleasant though-out the process. He is thoughtful and pays attention to all the fine details. For the tv unit, he took my idea for a parquetry design and brought it to life beautifully. Both finished products are stunning and of the highest quality. I can highly recommend Sean and the Original Woodshop and hope to get some more furniture made by him in the future!

Sean made me a Hall Unit with extra drawers from beautiful Victorian Ash timber so that I could transfer my shell collection from a much larger bulky chest. The custom piece is exactly as I envisaged it and Sean was very easy to talk with, communicate by phone and email until we got it exactly how I wanted. I would not hesitate to recommend his services.

Sean made a custom record player stand for me and I am exceptionally pleased with the results. He did a fantastic job, was a pleasure to deal with and went the extra mile to make sure I got the result I was after. The final piece is beautifully finished and turned out better than I could have hoped for, I can’t recommend the original wood shop highly enough.

The value of custom work is exhibited perfectly through Seans craftsmanship. Down to the minutia, every detail was perfect and anything I didn’t think of was thought through and explained perfectly.I got much more than what I originally asked for because any problem with my initial idea was worked through and solved with great communication in a very timely manner.I can’t recommend TOW any more highly. The process, execution and delivery were all seamless, and I couldn’t be happier with my beautiful new bench.

Sean, took our order for some custom shelving units and desk made out of high grade ply. Wow these came up great, made a delightful difference to our office.
