The University of Notre Dame Australia
A wonderful university which caters to individual needs. With a caring and understanding approach towards it students and having small teacher to student rations allows Notre Dame to be a university which can offer a good balance between the practical and the theory. Its theological and philosophical foundations are from seeking to convert, but rather increase the knowledge and understanding of its students through these core units. Overall, my time here at the university has been positive and rewarding.

Just heard Carol Wang physically attacked her student from news. Just wondering whether it is still safe to study there.

I am willing to change my rating at a later stage if things improve, however, I can confidently say that their admission, enrolment and administrative process is VERY frustrating and complicated.I was given a late offer and even later access to accounts and such. I have had to follow-up most situations and at times I get met with frustration and mild passive aggression. I assume this may be because I am becoming a “nuisance”, I presume because of the amount of emails I’ve had to send.I have enrolled at both Curtin and ECU and never had complications quite on this scale.I was advised by a friend that Notre Dame’s data bases are old and “clunky” in comparison to Curtin, however, once students get used to the various (seemingly endless) links and portals they have to use, their experience becomes positive.I am hoping for that to be the case later on.I will revisit this review at a later stage.

Currently a student at Notre Dame.Excellent and helpful staff, but really bad wi-fi in certain classrooms. IT is decent, but library needs an overhaul.Good buildings, and excellent choices for food

I'm commencing semester two this year for my postgraduate degree. The application progress was really straight-forward and smooth, had tons of support from the university's help centre. I hope my study experience will be just as smooth.

I did my nursing degree here during a pandemic, they were so accomodating and able to still provide a great University experience/ provide a new delivery method for teaching with out jeopardising my education.

A beautiful place to study and commute to. With heritage listed buildings placed in close proximity to pristine swimming beaches, good coffee shops and book nooks, Notre Dame even shuts down the whole of Mouat street to make way for market stalls, club spaces and activities for their annual bustling Open Day.There are often food trucks and student buskers in the beautiful courtyard outside of St. Teresa's library, with pastoral care and mentoring opportunities close by. Though there is little parking on campus, plenty can be found a short distance away in residential streets (often free for up to 2-4 hours). Most spaces are wheelchair accessible and a cycle of constant renovations keeps Notre Dame pushing towards the balance of heritage and modernity, with major recent renovations to the student hall, Prindiville Hall. Some administration systems remain to be updated, such as a timetable signup system that forces students to sign up on a first-in-best-dressed basis, and weak wifi in some classrooms and every day between 10am and 3pm.(In the School of Education, anyway) the faculty have always been helpful and kind beyond their means. Student life is busy and highly social even in class, actively giving students opportunities to meet, collaborate with and connect with classmates. Some specialisation units in the Bachelor of Education course require revisiting in their relevancy to the modern teacher and subsequent practices in efficiency of delivery. The relationships and professional connections Notre Dame provide (through the structure of their Education courses, specifically) are valuable assets when eventually entering the industry. The warm social culture, extended practicum opportunities, closely available support networks and welcoming faculty place Notre Dame as a gem amongst Australian tertiary education providers in the education industry.

I did my Bachelor of Nursing here and loved it. The course was excellent and the teaching style really worked for me with relatively small classes. And the beautiful historic buildings were a bonus. Highly recommend.
