They say when you know you know, and that couldn’t be truer when talking about the first time I met with Helena to discuss designing my wedding dress.Helena took all of my inspiration photos and explained to me the elements that would best suit my figure. She took care in making sure to understand what I loved most about each dress so she could truly appreciate what I would love to see come to life in my own dress.I took with me a dress made for my Aunt by my Nonno’s sister in Italy that was never worn and that would never fit me and explained to Helena my wish to use the lace from the dress for my own. I explained to Helena that I am a perfectionist and after all my research to fund the right designer and creator to make my dress, she was the only option.Throughout every fitting Helena explained the process, from why I was wearing a calico bodice the first time through until the day I collected my completed dress. She took on the task of dying my family lace and incorporating it into my dress in the most perfect compilation of old and new. She took photos to show the progress and made sure I was happy at every turn. She fussed over every intricate detail that were continually perfected right up until the time I walked out the door dress in hand.Helena makes magic with her mind, hands, heart and fabric, there is no other way to explain the artistry she creates other than to say she is a true magician.

I absolutely loved my experience with Helena. It was an honour to wear one of her masterpieces for my wedding day. We worked together to make my wedding dress everything I could have every imagine. It was simple, elegant and so perfectly made. Helena is full of wonderful ideas and her creativeness as well as skills and knowledge ensures that every single dress she makes it to suit the individuals body shape. She carefully picks your best features and works to design a dress that compliments each bride individually. As we were a covid wedding Helena was so flexible and understanding and she held onto my dress for 3 years. Helena has been a big part our day and journey to finally making it to our 6th rescheduled wedding date. I highly recommend her to any bride. Our experience was far better than anything we could have received in a store and there was no way I was going to find a dress that I loved and adored without engaging Helena to custom design and make my gown. I started my wedding planning 12 months ago. I searched high and low but couldn't quite find the dress of my dreams. I had nearly given up hope when I came across Helena Couture Designs. From the moment I stepped into Helena's studio, surrounded by all her beautiful gowns, I just knew I had come to the right place. This amazingly talented lady takes you on a magical journey creating a work of art to wear on your special day. Her love and passion for her craft is infectious and watching your dress come to life after each visit is the most thrilling experience. There are no words to describe how much I love my dress and the guests just couldn't stop talking about it. I cannot recommend Helena enough! She is kind and chatty and puts you immediately at ease with what was a bit of a daunting process. She listened to everything I wanted and used her expert eye and style to create the most beautiful dress for me. And we had a lot of laughs along the way.Thank you so much Helena and I still need to try that tiramisu!

Working with Helena to create my wedding gown was one of the highlights of my wedding prep. I trusted her vision from the beginning and could not be happier with the gown she created for me. I’m so happy I found Helena, she is an amazing dressmaker who absolutely saved my dress. She did custom work on a dress I’d already purchased and it needed so much altering to fit me properly and to make it my own glamorous masterpiece. Just had my wedding in the amazing wedding outfit Helena has made for me and it was the most comfortable outfit a bride can be in! Helena created a masterpiece which I absolutely can rewear based on my body type and what I’m comfortable with. She made the whole design and trial process such a pleasant and fun experience which lessen the stress I had. 10/10 would return again for my next formal event!

I found Helena online when I was searching to have my wedding dress made, and found her to be so helpful straight away! I lived about 1.5 hours away, and wanted to initially find out whether I would be able to afford the design I was looking at having made, and also what laces Helena had available. She was prompt at replying and provided me a number of photos straight up so I could see what was on offer before making the trip to see her. I found this to be very accommodating, and different to interactions I had with other wedding dress designers. After my first appointment, I just knew that Helena was on board with my design, and trusted she would be able to deliver it. I really looked forward to each fitting - firstly because it was so great seeing the progress of my dress, but also because Helena was so lovely and warm to be around. She made the process so smooth and simple, and put in so much extra effort on my dress that I was not expecting. My dress was a deep-vee, long sleeve lace with a fanned tail and stringed pearled across the back - and the lace was heavy to work with. Helena has such incredible talent that she was able to create the top half of my dress with no seam - it was one large piece of lace hand stitched and had no joins on my shoulder or back! Talk about dedication, precision and commitment to the design by Helena! I cannot recommend Helena highly enough - she will not disappoint you at all! Helena goes over and above, and follows your mind perfectly on the design, while also providing a balanced alternative where you find yourself stuck sometimes. She is friendly, warm and you feel like a valued client the moment you step into her studio. Thank you Helena for being such a big part of my wedding, and providing the peace of mind that you did throughout the whole dress making process.
