Poppy's Verandah Cafe
Have been very happy customers for many years in the restaurant and nursery. My daughter and I have bought everything from soil and furniture to nice wine. Owing to an uncomfortable visit last Friday we won't be back. I nearly laughed when the machine was shoved at me with a list of tipping options.

Poppy's Verandah Cafe
Waited over 35 minutes for a cup of tea which we ended up having to get as takeaway because we had to leave. Took another 10 minutes for them to organise the takeaway cup. No apology for the delay and the girl at the counter literally threw the eftpos machine across the counter when it was time to pay. $7.50 for a cup of takeaway tea?!? Never again! Shame because it’s a nice venue.

Poppy's Verandah Cafe
This was the best mushie’s on toast I’ve had. I’m glad to see the correct toast for this. Too many cafes push sour dough toast for all their dishes which is hard to cut through and just makes it hard to eat. This was a not too sweet brioche toast. Bloody good.Their early bird breakfast specials make this cheaper than a MacDonalds breakfast meal.Will be back again.

I usually go to Poppy's atleast twice a week for their great coffee and service, unfortunatly my visit on the 24/10/22 was horrendous.I arrived around 11.30 to have lunch and after waiting for the 3 staff members to finish their conversation at the coffee machine, I was sat at a table. No menus were brought to the table for a good 5 minutes.After finally getting our menus I noticed only one staff member seemed to be interested in serving customers.The other 2 staff (must be new) were constantly chatting and seemed more interested in each other then working. Since the 2 of them needed to get drinks from out back to refill the fridges, the one girl was left by herself doing all the work.After ordering, I noticed the newer female staff member blatantly refuse to answer the phone, scoff at customers and make it look like she was busy so she didn't have to take orders.The coffees arrived pretty quickly (I'll give then that) my chai latte was lovely, so was the mocha however unfortunatly my so called 'cappuccino' was placed down on the table and had overflowed into the saucer. The newer staff member looked at it and walked away, didn't appologise, didn't offer me a napkin, no attempt to help me clean the mess. Lucky me a flat white at best and a saucer full of coffee.I wish I could say I was the only case of unfortunate service but another table had to ask for menus aswell as another table asking for service. Its never usually like this when I go to poppys, the usual lady is a bit older and extremely friendly.The food was delicious as usual but wasn't enough to fix the ruined experience from the staff. Honestly if you asked my option those 2 newer staff shouldn't be working in a customer focused environment, they will make other customers not want to return.The younger girl with the glasses needed more coffee training but again only lady actually working.You need a manger or supervisor or something on shift directing, it was awful watching them floundering about with no idea and no organisation.I went to find the manger but couldn't locate her to let her know my feedback.Its honestly a beautiful place to go, just unfortunate that the staff on that day have ruined it for me.

Poppy's Verandah Cafe
Returned yesterday to the newly refurbished Verandah Cafe at Poppy's Garden Centre with my usual group and was delighted to find the soup and damper for (now) $14 had been reinstated to the menu. Simply delicious and plenty for we small eaters. The decor was beautiful. Will come here regularly.

Poppy's Verandah Cafe
Went to this Cafe for lunch recently. Food was good. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Worth going to try. I'll be back to this Cafe again sometime in the future.While you're here at this Cafe, go to the Garden Nursery and buy some plants and other things, or just look around the place. The staff in the Garden Nursery were also friendly and welcoming. Go and visit them as well as this Cafe.It's worth the trip to visit both the Garden Nursery and Poppy's Verandah Cafe.Thank you to all staff in the Cafe and the Garden Nursery. Thanks for your hospitality in both areas.

High expectations on surprising my elderly Mother with her closest friends- 10/10.BUT the service we experienced was very much below standards.Our order was late being taken, then waited an hour but even longer for some of our orders to arrive.Enjoyable food.Ordered tea/coffee @ 1.30pm.Asked @ 2.10pm where our order was, given we had already paid the full bill.4 out of 6 received their order.Soooo, over 50mins later we were still 2 orders short.A few enquiries by our table fell short by your staffCome on 'The Verandah' please lift your game.

Poppy's Verandah Cafe
Very average food and extremely over priced for what they serve. Ordered corn and zucchini fritters- was very doughy, didn’t even have a trace of zucchini and tasted terrible for $24.Ambience is great but food very disappointing
