Improv Theatre Sydney

ITS is a great little community. The classes are well organised. I have had the advantage of experiencing three different teachers and while everyone is different, there is a similar theme and great supportive feeling from the team of staff.

Classes at Improv Theatre Sydney have been an amazing experience filled with both spectacular teachers and students. The loving community is unlike anything I could have imagined and classes (and the great shows) are always the best part of my week! Taking the jump to sign up was the hardest thing to do, everything after has been pure enjoyment!

In May 2021, I purchased the stand up comedy fundamentals course as birthday present for my partner. I signed up too so we’d have a fun activity to do together.Covid and lockdowns prevented us from attending in person weeknight classes and Improv Theatre Sydney assured us that it would be fine to wait until they resumed.I’ve been checking the website, and missed out on preferred class times, and they’ve since switched to weekend only.I’ve emailed many times, asking for the schedule so we can book a weeknight class ahead of time.It has been very difficult to get class times or the schedule from Improv Theatre Sydney. Emails are either ignored, take weeks to reply or I am told to check the website.I finally gave up, deciding it’s not worth the hassle and was told it was too late to get a refund, but weeknight classes would resume in August.I asked for the dates again and… nothing.Can someone please just tell me the exact day and time of when the stand up fundamentals class will be in August?And if not available yet, make a commitment to let me know as soon as they are?

This place is the real deal! I’ve taken a number of classes here (Level 1 - 5), and found them to be excellent. The teachers are true professionals - it’s a very inclusive environment no matter what your skill level - and the curriculum is well designed to aid learning. I’d recommend this to school to anyone, even if you’re a beginner - give it a go!

ITS classes, faculty & community have helped me grow so much and I cannot recommend them highly enough! If you're looking to break out of your shell, figure out some stuff, make friends, be a little bit more of who you were meant to be - take a class. They're the real deal. The faculty and community are compassionate, whip-smart and above all unbelievably talented, you'll learn from and grow with the best.

Taking classes with Improv Theatre Sydney has been an amazing experience! The teachers are all phenomenal and the positive energy in the school is infectious! I spend all week thinking about the skills we learn in class and how they are so applicable in everyday. Taking a class at ITS will be the best thing you do!

a really wonderful school. ITS teachers help you learn at your own pace, and help navigate the often confronting experience of improvising in front of an audience. classes start from a base, entry level and gradually bring you up to speed with each level. If you are interested in developing more ease with being in front of people, or more ease with your own creativity - this is an awesome place to start that journey.

Hands down the best improv/stand up/sketch comedy school in Sydney. Improv is a great way to improve life skills, as well as building performance skills, and ITS is such a wonderful and welcoming community to be part of :) I'm obsessed!
