One Tao Kung Fu Academy

The One Tao Academy has been a blessing to my life. The internal power that I have been able to develop is a credit to the level of skill of Sifu John Cogan and how he informs the staff at the academy to teach wing chun. There is an obvious dedication to creating an academy that incorporates all aspects of the art of wing chun. I highly recommend attending classes of all nature, private and group as there is great benefit to both. As well as learning the physical skill there is an emphasis on applying the knowledge to all aspects of your life. There is a real sense of community amongst all the students and teachers that welcomes you with love and support. If you would like you or your children to be more focused the mediation component of the academy is very powerful and another skill that Sifu John Cogan has extensive knowledge in. Joining the One Tao family is one of the best decisions I have ever made!

A phenomenal place to empower yourself your children and train in the Art of kung fu.I have never felt fitter and calmer in my whole life .As a woman I was weary of starting grappling and martial arts and joining a new gym .Thankfully I found One Tao, I have made some wonderful friends male and female and I have always felt welcomed and supported by the whole team there.The adult classes are amazing and give you step by step easy to learn and build from, movements that form a comprehensive system that is geared completely towards self defence.The meditation element grounds you calming your body and mind and entirely melts away all your worldly stresses.The children and family classes are fun and interactive .It is wonderful to see how the children feel confident and empowered all while having a great time.Definitely the place for yourself and your family to start their kung fu journey for life.

My son has loved attending classes at One Tao Kung Fu. He has grown and learnt so much and is always excited when he gets a new stripe on his belt. Definitely recommend to others.

I first met John and the team for a trial session when they were previously based in Crows Nest over 4 years ago. Unfortunately, the timing wasn’t right at that and then COVID hit, but I always had it in the back of my mind that I would return.Fast forward to the present, I came back 2 weeks ago and John remembered me and welcomed me to the group. What I have found so far is that all of the team here are really friendly and knowledgeable, and there is a real sense of community. So far I have really enjoyed my learning experience and I would highly recommend.So, if you’re considering taking up a martial art, then why not come and give it a go?! My only regret is not coming back sooner!

Our son loves his Kung Fu classes!Coaches are engaging and enthusiastic. Great family business.They go above and beyond typical classes and organise other activities for children and their families to socialise.They know every child by name and foster an atmosphere of belonging. We can highly recommend One Tao!!

One Tao Academy has become a second home where one can practice with mindfulness and peace at the forefront. Unlike some other martial arts gyms, there is no ego. And Sifu John’s exemplary commitment to his craft is manifested by the calming energy and supportive environment at One Tao. I can recommend One Tao to anyone looking to gain the skill to defend oneself - physically and mentally.

My son is on the ASD spectrum. One Tao coach Mel and Marcus have been absolutely wonderful with my son's sensory needs. He is learning life long skills, and unlike other sports and activities he is super excited every week to go to One Tao Kung Fu Academy

Josh loves going to One Tao. They are very understanding with life plans and making sure the lessons fit in. He has come along way.
