If you choose to go with this rogue builder keep aside $100,000 for a legal battle. This is when you have found that many short cuts had been taken and to get your unit project finished to an acceptable standard it will costs hundreds of thousands to fix. Unfortunately we engaged this RATcliffe (David) to build a multi million $ development, after having suspicions that things weren't right we had some independent expert assessments done and to our disgust it turns out Walls aren't square/straight, floors are creaking, roof plumbing and build needs extensive work to correct estimated repair cost of around 600k (it was NOT built to the plans) , drive way needs to be pulled up and replaced as it floods all the the place when there is a heavy down poor estimated repair cost of around 450k (it was NOT built to the plans)Im guessing VCAT know this guy on a first name basis as I know of at least 4 others that have either been down the same track or have just given up as it is To hard to sue"

I also wouldn't recommend David to anyone. He was very convincing at the start but once he received the final payment from the bank he showed his true colours. He didn't want to know about rectifying any of the defects I had and was quite abrupt in telling me that they were finished to an acceptable standard". We initially communicated that we wanted high quality build for our family home

I am a manager for a property built by Ratcliffe BG in 2011 and needed copies of the oroginal plans. I sent in an email and the following week they replied with a PDF of a full set of plans. Most builders just ignore these requests so they get 5 stars for service from me.
