Grand Banquet
The food was very varied, the waiters were very friendly. The taste was very good. The food tastes just like what I ate in China. My friends and I enjoyed it very much. It is highly recommended!

Very expensive and over priced for the limited selection of dishes and a very outdated look. Visiting Hobart on a family vocation, had a meal with our family of 7 and we were left with a terrible taste in our mouths. All the dishes were was not prepared fresh. The chicken tasted off, most of the meals were cold, noodles dishes were dry. The kids area had chipped black chalk paint on the walls, it was uninviting. The deserts weren't any better - tasted more like a sponge cake from Coles. We were one of two families there, the entire place of empty. Certainly not a GRAND BANQUET!

I won’t say anything. Just see this pics. They even say goodbye or thank you when I left the restaurant.

So so so bad! My family booked in a reservation weeks in advance for a family bday. Arrived on time to be told the restaurant was CLOSED. Was not offered help by staff and we were all left wondering what to do out the front of the Grand Banquet (with a bunch of hungry kids!). Had to find some where else that could fit around 30 people, luckily we found some where! Will not be going back and recommend you don’t either.

Used to be there quite often. For a price of only $25, it's totally worth the money. As a frequent customer, I can feel the improvement of the food. Chef keeps making new dishes according to customers' feedback - which is really good! I don't want to taste the same thing again and again. It's one of few restaurants that offer play room for children, so that we can enjoy the food and leave children in the room - brilliant! For whom found dirty cutleries, yes, I found a couple of them as well. I reported to the manager and they re-washed them all immediately without giving any excuses. Well done, but still hope it won't happen again.

Good selection. Nice enough food. Lovely staff. A bit expensive $35/head. Needs updating on the website as it says $25.

If I could give no stars I would. We had a booking for 30 people here. We booked over the phone well in advance. Turned up to the restaurant on the day and they were closed! So we had to scramble to make a last minute booking for another restaurant that could fit 30 people! Extremely poor customer service. If they knew the restaurant was going to be closed during our booking, why accept the reservation?!

If you can put away quite a bit of food then you may want to give this place a try.I had been itching to go to an all-you-can-eat restaurant as I hadn't been to one for awhile. I've noticed Grand Banquet a few times while driving past and thought it was time to try their buffet range. I had to check it out so I decided to meet up with a couple of friends to see what was on offer. On entering the restaurant looked very clean and we were greeted with friendly staff. It costs $36 per person so I was determined to eat as much as possible. After picking out our table we decided to see what was on offer. They do have quite a bit to choose from being from between 16-20 dishes at the main selection with more when you take soups, bread, sushi and all the desserts on offer. For drinks you simply help yourself to at the fridge but can also order alcohol from the menu. There's something for everyone from traditional sweet & sour, noodles, fried rice and chili dishes for those who like more heat in their food. But there was also fries and other child friendly options and a variety of desserts including cakes, ice cream and jelly. I had a couple of plates full of food and some dessert and drink and definitely feel like I got my moneys worth (especially as I had double the amount of dessert). There's a play area for the kids so mum and dad can eat without being disturbed. I didn't use the toilet so can't rate that. One let down is the lift not working so if your movement is somewhat impaired then you might have some difficulty going up the stairs.I have seen some negative reviews here but I found that overall it was good value and the food was rather good.

Really good! It is good to have a chinese buffet back in town. Prices are ok. Food was great, the kids really enjoyed the sushi..... and the chips! Only complaint was that my wife said that the ladies toilets were disgusting and really need to be more regularly cleaned as it looked like they hadn't been cleaned for a long time. Mens toilets i thought were ok. Otherwise great and we will be back.
