Southside Surgical: Dr Murtaza Jamnagerwalla

I was referred to Dr Jamnagerwalla as a result of a cancer diagnosis requiring major surgery.What I didn’t realise at the time was that this man would quite literally be a Godsend to me.His skill and expertise as a surgeon meant that this type of complex surgery would be done laparoscopically which ensured a faster recovery and a lot less post-operative pain.He fully explained the procedure, we discussed the risks and he defined the outcome we were seeking.Nothing was left unanswered.However it is the characteristics of the man himself that bought me compassion and empathy and a faith that everything was going to be ok that has provided me with a remarkable recovery.Murt is truly a Gentle Man in every sense and I can’t thank him and the entire staff at Southside Surgical enough for what they have done for me. I will be eternally grateful.

I recently had surgery done by Dr Murtaza Jamnagerwalla of Southside Surgical. The practice has a friendly, helpful staff and is located conveniently in Miranda NSW. Dr Jamnagerwalla is a kind, caring surgeon who immediately makes you feel at ease and comfortable when discussing medical options and courses of action. I found him to be an outstanding surgeon who explained the operation I was having, the expected convalescence and the best way to manage my recovery. The hospital nursing staff where I had my operation spoke very highly of him. He spoke at length with me both before and after my operation and personally rang my wife informing her of my condition while I was in recovery. The follow up visits were professional yet felt like a meeting with a good friend. Dr Murtaza Jamnagerwalla fixed a long term problem I have lived with for years and I couldn't be happier. I have recommended Dr Murtaza Jamnagerwalla to friends and would recommend him anyone who needs the type of surgery he specialises in.

I had a long term problem and during my pregnancy it became worse. Although GP and midwives told me that any doctor would do anything before the birth I was desperate and hoped that it could be fixed. I was lucky to get a consultation with Dr Jamnagerwalla and a following procedure. He is extremely caring, listened to my problems, explained all aspects of the procedure and made me absolutely comfortable with this decision. Dr Jamnagerwalla is highly experienced and professional, so the procedure was going quick and well. He called my husband straight away after it’s done, also he called me back next day and put me on ease. I’m so grateful for returning me to a normal life during my pregnancy!Also I’d like to mention that the staff at the reception is amazing, very helpful and respectful.I couldn’t recommend highly enough Dr Jamnagerwalla and this medical practice to everyone who has such problems.

If I could give 100 stars I would. I cannot recommend Dr Jamnagerwalla enough. If you are looking for a well respected Surgeon with exceptional skills and knowledge, great bed side manner then this is the practice for you. From the moment I met Dr Jamnagerwalla he made me feel so comfortable and at ease. The whole process was explained in such detail so I was less anxious about having surgery. On the day of my surgery I was super anxious and after being met with a smile and reassured I would be ok it made such a difference. My recovery was exception and the care I received was like no other. I would also like to mention his incredible admin staff who also went above and beyond to ensure I had a great experience. Thank you Dr Jamnagerwalla for everything its 100 stars from me!!

My experience with Dr. Jamnagerwalla and Southside Medical was exceptional. From the exam that resulted in finding my tumour to surgery, recovery, and getting a clean bill of health: I had support and assurance of a cancer free future. The recovery from surgery did not go as expected, but Dr. Jamnagerwalla worked with me to get back on track. With an extra few days in hospital we turned the tide and I was able to go home cancer free and looking forward to living life to the fullest. 6 months later very glad I chose this practice.

Dr Jamnagerwalla was the third colorectal surgeon I went to see and I’m extremely glad I went with my instincts until I found someone I was very happy with. He has a very considered, thoughtful approach and instantly made me feel comfortable taking the time to listen and respond to my concerns. I booked two procedures with him, one that required an overnight stay in hospital. He took great care to explain to me what to expect in advance and spent a lot of time patiently talking me through the results and next steps. He phoned my husband after the surgery and took the time to also explain to him the outcome. The morning after the surgery, following my evening of recovery in hospital, he came back around to check on everything and explain the details again thoroughly. Both procedures went extremely well and I felt very confident in his professional expertise and, just as importantly, his bedside manner really put me at ease so I didn’t feel any anxiety or concern at all. I could not recommend Dr Jamnagerwalla more highly.
