Little Blue LakeB82 road, between Derby and Gladstone. A mining hole with high mineral content that gives it its beautiful aqua blue colour. So glad we went a little out of our way to see this well worth it.16 July 22

Beautiful spot. No signs to get here and the road in that google directs you to use isn’t suitable for caravans as there is no turn around point. About 2.5km you hit a private fence.

Blue Lake
Great little spot to stop and check out the scenery. Need to note that there are no amenities here so only good for a quick stop and look. The minerals in the water stirred up from past mining makes it deep blue in color and amazing to look at on a sunny day but do not consume water as it is toxic for humans. Have found a good geocache around the lake for those who are into it. A Nice little stop if in the area

A must visit!!!! But the little blue lake is the one which actually is blue and its a lot earlier than the blue lake.

Blue lake is a good couple of hours out of town if passing the Bridestowe Lavender Estate so keep that in mind when planning the visit. There are no amenities near the attraction either but the sight of the teal-turquoise coloured lake on a sunny day is a sight to behold. We actually navigated using Google and got led down a service dirt road, past dunes into private land clearly indicated by a sign. A cliff nearby made of tin deposit and remnants of old pipes offers a nice view of the low concentration lake with a visible camp area.Driving further up the road led us to the iconic Little Blue Lake" where there is a small viewing platform with facts about the location. It is a great vantage point for photography but experienced hikers and off road drivers can delve further into the land to have a much closer experience with the lake. It cannot be swimmers in due to the toxicity caused by high tin concentration in the rocks. It is just a quick snap and go ordeal for a massive effort of the journey. You might as well visit the Bay of Fires which isn't too far off to make the trip worth more."

Absolutely stunning lake with beautiful aqua colour and a quiet place in Tasmania's east coast.
