Bargara Coastal Accommodation

It's a shame I can't give a 0 star rating!!!!!!!!!!!Booked a property with them 10 months in advance AND received a confirmation of a booking for 7 Dooley St Bargara (still have the pdf).My mobile phone mysteriously wasn't working, had to resort to calling from my land line (answered 1st time, how convenient...).Refused to honour the booking.The MOST DISGRACEFUL SERVICE I HAVE EVER RECEIVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My agency arranged a particular apartment through Bargara Coastal Accommodation as I had stayed there previously and had a quite pleasant experience the last time around.Unfortunately this stay was very different, while the location and apartment was great, the service was absolutely horrible.The weekly apartment service that was agreed upon never happened and was more often every three weeks when I had to call the accommodation managers to remind them repeatedly. Furthermore, when they did service the apartment small items and products which belonged to me would go missing, which they acknowledged were taken by mistake during cleaning but never returned despite my repeated inquiries.As mentioned, these were relatively small items but none the less should have been returned at some stage over the several weeks I stayed there.I appreciate that this is a small accommodation service that seems to manage several properties with minimal staff but not returning items belonging to a tenant should not have been ignored for several weeks until they eventually just went away.Will not be staying at any properties managed by Bargara Coastal Accommodation in the future and will be advising my colleagues the same.

The importance of doing your research before booking with this business! I wish I had taken the time to read already posted bad Google/HomeStay feedback.Check-in was 2pm but no information was communicated stating where to collect keys or location of apartment. Sent an email and got a timely call back from owner of property with an apology. Soon after I get a call from their agent verbally explaining where to collect the keys.We had difficulties trying to find the place but that aside we met with an agent representing the property in a small dingy and poorly presented office.The agent wasn’t friendly or welcoming and appeared angry. As she was very short with me when I provided professional & constructive feedback. She stated it wasn’t her fault but they sacked a F*** Head last week who messed everything up. Her tone changed and without notice got up and left the office to talk to her colleague who has since been identified as her sister.Her sisters children were running in and out of the office while this was happening. I witnessed her screaming at the child and threatening her with physical harm if she didn’t go away.I realised this wasn’t going well after I said “ Love, please give me the keys so we can just go” her response was “I’m calling the police!” When I asked why she said because of the way I called her “Love”.We agreed the police should be called as from our point of view we had paid for our accommodation in full and for no reason given were refusing to hand over the keys. Needless to say the police weren’t called it was just a threat.The pair then refused to give me the keys to the apartment as they didn’t appreciate me giving them feedback regarding the poor communication prior to check-in.For the amount I was paying for the accommodation above $260 per night, you'd think they would be thoughtful enough to send any kind of information regarding where to meet or pick up keys etc I've stayed in similar places with a much cheaper cost and they've gone above and beyond to assist with our stay.This whole debacle has put me off ever using a homestay accommodation again due to the sheer incompetence I've experienced.Quickly realising our dream weekend away was falling apart. The owner of the property called me and again, was apologetic but said she was getting a different series of events from her agent in Bargara.Having asked multiple times if we can have the keys and just leave we were told NO!We believe the apartment was already occupied as no reasonable explanation was given as to why we were denied the keys.The whole experience has been a disaster with big implications. I hope by leaving this review others will not fall victim to this dodgy and unprofessional business.Do not book in with Bargara Coastal Accommodation or the list of properties they manage on different websites such as HomeStay or Palms @ Bargara.Our intention was never to cause any stress. In fact we were so looking forward to staying at Bargara we just wanted to get out of there with the keys to the apartment. So we could get on with our weekend.It is without doubt the worst service I have ever experienced!I strongly recommend not booking any accommodation with these people.Buyer Beware!
