I have been to Ballarat a few times and finally got to see the tram museum. The crew is very knowledgeable and will tell you everything you wanna know about their trams. Would rate it as one of the must-go tourist attraction spot in Ballarat. $8 entry fee including a tram ride. It only opens on Tuesdays and on the weekends though so make sure you go there at the right time. Really enjoyed my visit overall.

If you’re in (or passing by) Ballarat, the Ballarat Tramway Museum is well worth looking at! The volunteers are very friendly and are great to talk to. Unfortunately at the time of my visit the track was under renovation, so I can’t review the team ride they normally offer! I was however, treated to a tour of their workshop which was just as good. Perfect for tram enthusiasts of all ages, including big kids like me who love sitting in the driver’s seat and pretending they’re driving a tram through Ballarat!

We went to art museum in Ballarat before thr tram museum. We know nothing about painting. We definitely enjoyed much in Art Museum. They charge nothing and provided us a professional touring. The tramway museum..... I have no idea why they charge such a high entrance fee. You are even not allowed to shop in the small shop without a ticket... I better spend time with kid on the lake opposite.

An interesting museum in Ballarat and a pleasant tram ride which was surprisingly cheap! The tram ride travels back and forth by Lake Wendouree and it's a pleasant experience for 15 minutes (or so) if in the area. Great for kids and there's some information boards too at each stop-off and in the museum. The museum itself has an array of other trams which were quite interesting, alongside some additional information boards.Staff were really friendly and informative, and even allowed our dog on the tram for a quick tour!Worth a visit for sure!
