Mount Stronach walking track

Well designed track along a walk with good potential sadly showing the signs of terminal damage by senseless testosterone fuelled 4WD and trail bikes even at the summit right to this day. Well past time for a review of that activity considering the disproportionate damage done by those few.

Walk up to the summit and be rewarded by the most stunning views.

Great short walk. Fair incline if you are moving. Carpark about 100 metres into the bush track at end of road. Views of north east Tassie.

Great well signed posted hikes. Narrow to get into the carpark, trailers or big motorhomes won't fit. Off Buckney road, don't listen to google maps! Will take you into a farm!

Nice easy walking track, with ascent. Not hard, good views and easy to follow track.

We did the first lookout point. Great view over valley and mountains. Consistent climb through ferns and scrub.

We didn’t get to walk the track as we couldn’t reach the car park! The unmade ‘road’ to the car park was extremely narrow and not fit for vehicles that are not 4wd. No signposts to explain this, and only metres before the car park we encountered extremely deep holes filled with water that we could not drive through, or round. We had to reverse back down the dirt track for quite a way before we could turn around even! The road to the car park needs to either be repaired or signage erected to prevent people from experiencing this. Luckily, my hubbie is a very experienced driver but others not so confident in reversing downhill over a dirt track may have issues. A real shame, as we so wanted to do this walk! :(
