Izumi provides outstanding tutelage that is tailored to the individual needs of each student. Her lessons are always engaging and interesting while still being very productive. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking to learn Japanese. :-)

Tanoshikatta! Izumi-san provided lessons for two people at a convenient cafe near my workspace. Izumi-san was flexible and tailored lessons to our particular requests and skill level. So happy I chose Izumi!

Izumi was a great teacher, she helped with my own challenges; speaking/ communicating and types of tenses eg. Ta form, plain form etc. Izumi is very flexible with her teachings what you want to do and focus on.For someone like me who was transitioning to year 12 Japanese she was helpful as to use a range of practice works from the past which were useful and taught me new vocabulary that I used in class.

Sensei Izumi is incredible - she has been teaching my wife and I for six months and we can't imagine learning Japanese without her guidance, patience and encouragement. She approaches teaching on such an individual level, taking into account each of our needs, what I intend to use Japanese for, and focuses on my strengths and weaknesses during our lessons. Prior to having her as my teacher, I was trying to use online tools that helped with some forms of Japanese, however it is Sensei that was able to give me so much more understanding of both the language and Japanese culture.While studying the language is complex and challenging, Sensei manages to make every lesson very engaging, No matter what we are learning I come away with something new, while also being encouraged with what I have learned so far. She is such a natural teacher that I feel truly blessed to have her as part of my journey with regards to learning Japanese. She is an incredible individual. I strongly suggest if you have the time and the want to learn the language that you seek out her teachings.

Izumi was a great find. I have never learned a language before, and my husband and I wanted to do lessons together. Izumi is friendly, patient, and very knowledgeable. She has been able to tailor her sessions to our style of learning, and works to both of our strengths. If I need to take things slower or focus on speaking, she is always willing to accomodate. The resources she shares are helpful as well. Learning Japanese has been a challenge, but having Izumi is definitely helping! Will continue my lessons for as long as I can!

I have been studying Japanese for about a year now with a lot of supplementary learning, but started with Izumi-san very early on especially for verbal learning skills and native explanations.Izumi-san has been an amazing teacher with all of the Japanese lessons we have had so far. She tailors her lessons to suit the individual, and is happy to go off-script" textbook-wise if there are any questions

Couldn't be happier with my choice of Japanese tutor: Izumi is able to tailor each lesson to suit your interests, in my case often changing the lesson plan on the day! She is incredibly dedicated, organised, punctual, patient and great at helping you to navigate some of the difficulties of learning a new language. Izumi is also an interesting and fun person and that comes through in her teaching. Our Japanese conversation classes feel like a catch up and I am often surprised to find the hour is already over... and yet I am learning so much. I highly recommend learning Japanese with Izumi!

From my personal experience with Izumi this year, I can say without a doubt that she is an excellent tutor for anyone who wants to study Japanese! Whether you are a student like me or in general just someone who wants to further develop their Japanese skills, Izumi is able to adapt to your needs and organise her lessons accordingly in order for you to make the most out of your lesson. Not only is she very friendly and great at teaching, but her lessons are always fun, unique and engaging whilst also still being very helpful and productive. Although I was initially very shy and nervous, I was easily able to feel more comfortable with Izumi and gradually found myself looking forward to every single lesson. Izumi is always well prepared for the lesson and is always willing to help you with anything that you request. Throughout the course of the year, I could really see how much I improved, and am now much more confident in my Japanese skills thanks to Izumi. I have been studying Japanese for almost a year now under Izumi and she has really helped me improve my vocab and conversation. Izumi, the tutor I had here, is the best language tutor I have ever had - and I've had a few! My Japanese was really basic when I started but now I'm able to hold my own in conversations with my Japanese friends. I highly recommend her!!!
